Well, have had the truck out in -38°C the last couple nights. No flickering issue with the new ballasts!

It's AC, and high enough voltage to arc.

If you were leaning on the fender and touched either of the two terminals, it would bite you like a spark plug wire.

High voltage AC is a completely different animal than 12vdc or 120 house current.

Once the ballast is turned on without a bulb, it arcs and shuts off.

I've got a question about aiming the projectors... My driveway slopes down so I only have about 10 feet where my truck is level and the lights are on the garage wall. So how should I am these things without 25 feet?

I have the DS2 if that helps any

I had the same issue. I put bricks under the front tires to level it out. Worked like a charm

Ballpark it by parking on the street behind another car and adjusting until the cutoff is just below the bottom edge of their rear window.

Then take it to a shopping center and pull around back. They'll usually have a fairly large, flat lot for trucks to make their turns, with either a block wall or flat side of the building.

So I'm balls deep into this retrofit... I'm trying to mount the projects into the bowl but the threads coming from the projector aren't very much and the nut is way bigger than the hole. Am I doing something wrong?

Is the projector hitting anything when you are feeding it through the lens side of the headlight? When I did mine we had to cut some of the shroud to get them to go all the way in and seat properly.

No. I think they gave me the wrong hardware. The lock nut is a hexagon and not round like the ones I've seen on other peoples install threads.

Does the nut fit the projector when it's not in the reflector?

What all hardware do you have? The projector should slip through a pretty fair amount. The only thing on the projector side of the bowl should be the projector and the large silicone washer.
Everything else goes on the back.

I didn't even use my rings because it pushed the shroud too far from the projector leaving a huge gap....
