    The story is this dude left a tank of acetylene in his FJ parked in the garage. The valve got bumped and it leaked over night. The next day he opened the door, smelled the gas, drove out of the garage and went to roll down a window to get some fresh air in there. As soon as he touched the window switch...boom. Somehow he lived.

    I read that a month or two ago! Blew my mind that he lived. If I recall correctly the only injury he received was hearing loss in his right ear.

    Dang... If you smell gas, find any way to air it out without electrical or friction of anything. Probably just open the garage door, then open the car door and let it sit for a couple of days with a fan.

    The leak was inside the vehicle, so I doubt there was much, if any, in the air in the garage.

    As for opening the door, there really isn't any other way...
