I don't believe there's anywhere to drive on the beach in RI/CT. The closest place is probably on the Cape at Race Point. But the majority of it is closed due to the stupid piping plovers. There are a few places to do some light wheeling. On of the normal spots is one on the RI/CT border. We normally post up any wheeling trips here:

I am not aware of any places on Aquidneck island (Newport is on an island) to ride the beaches. It is mostly cliffs. There maybe be some places in south county but I am to new to the area and don't know them.

The only place I have been "on the beach" around here was south shore beach, in little Compton RI.
    Here. https://plus.google.com/app/basic/local/104211739889498088609/about?gl=US&hl=en-US

Maybe others here have a better answer for you.

If you can. I would recommend bringing your kayak to Newport, put in at Fort Adams or Kings park and take in the view of Newport, the mansions, the Newport Bridge and the Bay. If you time it right in the summer you might eve catch one of the music festivals that are here.

Does anyone have a factory 17" rim they might part with? I had tires put on and my rim was gouged up pretty bad. The tire installer is making good on the mistake with a promise of no cost services on the future but I want to replace the rim. I'm in Peabody, will come to you and will pay in cash.

    Thanks ,

    Chris

Thanks. I am still a novice with wiring. My switch mount (wood stick on the left side) is still something I need to perfect. Theses things are bright as day. It is 2x 24" LEDs and 1x 12" right in the back facing forward. :)

You can go in RI to this place that is not really far away at all (nothing in RI is far away). You can also go to this in Cape Cod.

Like alex said, keeping it classy  i am not much of a vodka guy but that is always a nice drink

I had a shot of angry orchard mixed with fireball tonight, it was pretty good.

I am sure he would be glad his guns went to someone who will appreciate them, its always cool to own something that has a story behind it.

Nothing in CT, newport is a nice area though. I am sure the MA guys can point you towards beach driving but i believe it is seasonal, i am always down to go to the CT/RI line spot if you wanna go. Probably an hour away from newport.

Thanks, thats awesome. I have always wanted to brew my own but have never tried it.

That sounds like a neat old find. Was the dealer able to identify years and models for you? My dad has an old double that doesn't have any identifying marks on it that we've spent years trying to identify. For all we know it could be worth $50, or $5000.
    :notsure:

It's pretty easy, you've just got to pay attention to making sure everything is CLEAN, and if you're doing grain brewing you have to pay attention at hot break to make sure you don't make a huge mess on your stove.
But even extract brewing (using a can of syrup) has come a long way in recent years. I did an extract batch (Brown Ale) around Christmas because I was short on time, and that came out pretty awesome. And for extract brewing all you need is the bucket, an airlock, bottles, caps and a capper.

These ones were fairly easy. Both have the manufacturers markings on them, one even has a serial number. I started researching the one that had a serial number and was finding them being sold anywhere between $300 and $3,000, the other one I couldn't identify. The gunsmith was readily able to identify both and tell me they were realistically worth. Even told me, if I do end up selling the one, call him first! One was a fairly limited production run, not super collectable but it won't go down in value as it ages. One was just a cheaper field gun and not worth a whole lot. I'm keeping the collectable one for my safe and giving the other one to my old man so both are staying in the family.

Very nice score Mike. How old are the guns? Anything you'll be shooting or just keeping?

One is a 1941, the other is early 1950's but since it doesn't have a serial number, we're not 100% sure of the year. The gunsmith told me I could shoot them every time I go to the range and they'll both outlast me. I'll be shooting them every once in a while just for kicks but it'll mostly be a safe queen. My dad will shoot his because I know he wants to get rid of some varmits. The one he's getting is a 16 ga. so it'll effectively vaporize a squirrel. The one I'm keeping is a 20 ga.
