So the weather down here in Texas has been really cold and rainy due to "Global Warming", so I decided to do something fun while I was stuck to doing things in the garage. Colinb17 has a cool smiley face on his diff and I wanted to do something similar to personalize my Taco. Colin sent me a pic of a smiley he originally wanted to do on his truck, but didn't.

Sooo… I got bored and crazy at the same time and this was the end result. My 13 year old daughter laughed, and my wife asked if I was 13? Hehehe:D

She already thinks I've lost my mind so why not go all the way?

I used an enamel paint so it should stick around awhile. Oh, and I also changed the diff oil the day before so I won't have to pull the plug for quite some time.

So that has me caught up to this week.

I have been spending the $$$ like crazy because TW is like a virus. Once you get the mod bug, it's hard to get rid of it.

Anyways, in an effort to continue to get the truck ready for my Moab trip in May, I decided to replace the old worn-out leafs. I'd done quite a bit of research and decided to go with OME Dakars because of there ability to handle a heavy load better than Expos. So I place the order and got them in on Thursday afternoon.

Not one to sit around I got right to it. I backed the truck into the garage and had the old leafs off and the Dakars on in about 3 hours. Not too bad considering I did it by myself, and I only smashed my thumb once!

These things are hause's compared to factory.

What was nice was the bushings slid right in. I was prepared to pound the shit outta them. Had the hammer ready and everything. No need…

    And for today!

Yesterday I picked up a used 20" Rigid LED light bar from a local TW'er. Thanks Bullettoothtony for the awesome deal!!!

So this morning I set to work getting it on the bumper. Here it is all mounted and wired up. As soon as I'm done posting tonight I will head out and get it aimed properly.

I also think I have figured out a way to mount my Superwinch Talon 9.5iSR, which should be here within a week or so, without having to take the bumper off. Basically, I think with the grill off there's enough wiggle room to slide it in from the top. I sure hope so, as that will make life so much easier.

    We will see…

    And…..

After I got the light bar on. I decided to make a mount for a Blue Sea 12 fuse block I ordered off of Amazon.com for $32 about two weeks ago.

Although I only have a few extra accessories (Rigids and CB), at my current rate it won't be long before things get outta hand. So I'm going to be proactive and set-up a fuse block and a dual battery system.

This will be especially handy within the next 10 days or so, when my winch is delivered.

I've seen a few GB's on fuse block mounts here and there but I really like having stuff I've built, or friends have built, on my truck. It makes it unique and also lends a bit of extra pride IMHO.

So with that being said, I set out on building my very own version of a fuse block holder.

Don't judge too harshly on my welds. I've not used my welder in over 18 months due to moving and work. But here is a shot of my first beads…

Sure they leave a lot to be desired, but it's not like it's structurally vital. WE'LL GET TO THAT LATER! :D

Because I didn't have a large sheet, nor a way to cut it. I took 3 smaller pieces and welded them together.

Figured I needed the practice for an up coming Tacoma project… :spy:

And here it is as it sits now. First coat of primer doing it's thang.

Awhh hell… Here I thought I was done getting caught up and I realized I completely forgot about something pretty damn important to any Moab-ready truck.

    Sliders!

    They FINALLY came in.

Here they are getting several coats of primer and paint. Decided to go with paint versus powder coat so the inevitable touch-ups will be much easier to accomplish.

Sorry about the crappy pictures. The light was bad and my phone's camera sucks! But either way you get the idea.

These are weld ons. I had a local 4X4 shop do the welding.

Managed to get the winch installed, skid plates, along with the dual battery system and fuse block. I haven't added a battery management system yet, but that will happen down the road. Pics to follow next week.

Also have new shoes… 33" Nitto Trail Grapplers
