    anyone know how much people usually charge to weld sliders on? mine should be coming wednesday so im looking for welders around me! thanks

    Looking at about 2-3 hours worth of work depending on how they weld on. Anywhere from 50-75/hr. I can use the extra cash ;)


    On a side note I should be picking up my sig today!

    I highly doubt it's going to take 2-3 hours to weld sliders on. I could be wrong, but that sounds like a lot more time than it should take. I worked in a machine shop and it didn't take them that long to weld.

    I don't work on the cheap and I am mobile. Brian it depends on how much additional work needs to be done to the sliders.

    2-3 hours is about right mang! Mine took about that at Avid and I've seen others take that long.
    Place the sliders and mark where you are going to weld.
    Grind the paint from the frame in that area you marked
    Place them back up and get them leveled and center on each side (which is the hardest part imo)
    Weld
    After they cool you have to clean the welds and paint.

    Don't have to clean as I don't use flux-core.;) But yes Jon, you summed it up for the most part. Now if they mount to the side of the frame instead of the angle bracket for welding to the side and bottom will possibly entail more material and the additional time I estimated as you don't want to weld the tube directly to the frame.
