regardless of their legal terms, they have been hurting with customer satisfaction these past few months. hopefully they take that into account. this transaction will be the answer to whether or not I ever do business with them again. I think this goes for a lot of people.

some say that there is "no such thing as bad publicity", but the power of negative reviews on the internet can spread like wildfire and i'm sure they'll fear the almighty google if it shows pages upon pages of complaints.

their legal terms are a HUGE CYA when it comes to misprints. other stores have done it too. i can stand behind raging when gouging, but this is a different story.

So as long as they say they're not responsible for their own actions in their legal terms it gives them free reign to do whatever they want? At some point they have to be held accountable for their actions otherwise CS will continue to get worse if they get a free get out of jail card that absolves them from any wrong doing when their website is THEIR responsibility.

like i said, it gives them protection for misprints, etc. there have been other huge stores that have done this in actual print. some have stood by the prices and some have not. you think that if this price sticks they will change the hearts and minds of the already outraged? no

the item is now listed as out of stock

So at what point do we draw the line? Oh, you said that you aren't responsible for any mistakes so I just have to expect poor customer service and no restitution for mistakes made. You can have all the lawyers you want make all the fancy speak you want but in the end if you rely on that crutch to excuse you from budget cuts and firing people who's job it is to make sure there aren't mistakes you won't be in business very long. People like low prices but they also like customer service and some fancy legal jargon speak at the bottom of a page don't excuse them from the court of public opinion.

I'm not saying they should honor this guy's 45 cases and don't expect to even receive mine. In fact, I find it humorous when people buy something KNOWING it's a price mistake and then already have planned out how infuriated they're going to be when the company cancels the order which they have every right to do. In this situation you buy and cross your fingers but if you count your chickens before they've hatched KNOWING it's likely going to get canceled then that's on you.

At the same time there needs to be some accountability to sellers to make sure they're adhering to some sort of CS and listing a case of shotgun shells for $13 is the opposite of whatever that standard is. I'm just not of the mind that wranglings mean jack these days and that's been proven in court over and over again. You don't get to put whatever you want into a legal agreement and then expect to wash your hands of anything that happens once that agreement has been made.

so you're knowingly buying something at a wrong price instead of informing the person w/ the mistake due to a grudge?

what makes that any better than the people who were stealing all the food from walmart when their ebt system was not charging them correctly? they were knowingly buying carts full of crap b/c they werent being charged correctly. the number of items is different...about it.

side note for other corporate instances: when target messed up a few years ago for black friday and listed a $70 dvd set for $7, they still sold some at that price in each store. to me, that would be the right thing to do. difference is they also acknowledged the error and allowed it to happen. none of the items had even left the shelves.

Show me again where I said I bought anything.

There different in the respect that you are agreeing to the asking price and paying that amount. The Walmart example was people knowingly not paying the asking price. Very large difference. Otherwise if a site has a sale or blows out some overstock at lower prices are we all to not buy it because it's not retail and that would be wrong?

I agree. The mistake was theirs and they owned up to it which is what they should do in terms of customer service. I would understand if they wouldn't let people buy or canceled orders as they're within their right but that's just poor customer service. You're confusing two things in this conversation: morality & legality. Two entirely different things.

it was a "you're" in the sense of the people that purchased. the correct price was also listed for one of the other warehouses selling the item. do you not agree that basing your telling them or not based off a grudge is taking morality into consideration?

You keep trying to use the word 'grudge' like I'm somehow beholden to have the best interests of a company who has a long standing and well-known track record for not having the best interests of their customers in mind. If roles were reversed, would CTD go out of their way to save me money or save me from overpaying for something? It's not my job or that of anyone else to make sure CTD's employees do their job.

"It has come to our attention that your recent order of item 3-0308957 could have been incorrect on the website. There is a possibility that the item was listed as a 250 round case and this item is actually a 25 round box. We do apologize for this.

If we can cancel the order we will and refund the account for you.
If the order has processed and shipped we will reroute the packages back to CTD. We will refund the account at that time.

Again we do apologize for the inconvenience of this situation."

Also, it COULD have been incorrect, and there is a POSSIBILITY that it was listed as a 250 rd case... So they're telling me that if I ordered from "correctly priced" warehouse, I would have only gotten 25 rounds for about 103 dollars?

They have their heads so far up their asses that they are trying to avoid telling their customers that they were wrong. I just don't understand how they are going to screw the customers who tried to capitalize on their mistake like the Americans we are, and not chew the ass off of the person responsible. This isn't the first time they've done this. If its a reoccurring problem, they should've nipped it when it started and held the employee accountable; not the customer.

They price gouged the fuck outta everybody after sandyhook, I don't know why ya'll even are still doing business with them. Fuck them, I'll give my money to somebody else, even if they (CTD) have a better price on something.

They have shown they have no backbone, stop encouraging them.

Nevermind. I was clearly wrong. Now that I look at the item, it appears that all of the 25rd boxes sold out. But at warehouse 4, I can get one at the ridiculously convenient price of $103.15!

Ok, I'm done bashing CTD. I knew the thing was gonna get cancelled, but I was still thinking wishfully that a company would stand behind the saying "the customer is always right". Especially when they clearly avoided the blame in that nice message they e-mailed me. All I got from that is "You're a moron for thinking we'd provide customer satisfaction whether we were right or wrong".

I think the only reason people were ordering from them is because they had mispriced a case of shotgun shells at about $100 less than it should have been. This would have been a tremendous buy for them as well as a significant loss to CTD so I wouldn't say they were giving them any business other than taking advantage of what appeared to be a pricing error on CTD's part. I also wouldn't condone shopping at CTD under normal circumstances.

I stopped considering Cheaper Than Dirt as a place to do business when they were charging an ass-raping $99 for one Magpul magazine less than a month after Sandy Hook. However, Magpul earned my business forever when they gave MIL/LEO members first preference over suppliers for a max of 10 mags @$14.95 at the height of the hoarding (one year ago as a matter of fact).
