I changed the rear diff oil this evening, here is what the magnet on the drain plug had after 31k miles on the oil in the 350k miles differential.

I have been running Red Line 75W85 in both diffs for the last 200k miles.

Not to be unduly argumentative, but your story doesn't add up very well. So you put 5,000 miles/year for work related activities over let's say 8 years that is 40,000 miles. So, we are left to believe that the remaining 310,000 miles are the result of recreational weekend travel, family travel, etc over 7 1/2 years?

Not sure about others, but I remain very skeptical of your story.

What are you skeptical of? What does he have to gain by lying about any of this?

Am not suggesting the OP is lying....never said that. I am merely skeptical of the information presented so far as any reasonable person would be.

I have a similar commute (11 miles each way) and I average 15k per year on my trucks. We typically take the girlfriend's car for pretty much every trip over 100 miles (barring bad weather), and I average 8k-9k per year on my motorcycle. Most of my weekends don't involve any sort of travel, and I don't take road trips very often. So we're talking nearly 25k miles per year for me, just between the truck and the motorcycle, and I don't go on many trips over 200 miles in a year.
For somebody who travels recreationally, I don't see that kind of mileage per as impossible. But he must have an iron ass, haha!

I am surprised that the OP hasn't had to cut new threads for his oil pan, though. I had a Nissan that went nearly 300k, and I had to drill and retap the treads for the oil pan drain plug at about 275k because the originals had finally stripped.

I want to see my truck hit this goal. Have you ever replaced your transmission fluid and gear oils? Especially interested in any transmission oil replacements.

I drive 3.7 miles to work and sometime i only do that once a week ( i work out of town some and take a company truck to job site and stay all week) and i still manage to put on 10-12k miles a year. I would say my work commute is no more than 15% of my overall driving

I'm not sure how you can question his veracity and not accuse him of lying.

I've got 202,000 on mine. Changed wheel bearing at 100,000 and no problems since. My lives a rough life as I tow 3-4000 lbs 5-6 days a week 8 months out of the year

DUDE....I am neither a troll nor a dick on TW. I do contribute to many threads on TW in a respectful, thoughtful way. Sometimes I challenge what is being said or the accuracy of information I read. Do you have a problem with that?

So, when you can say the same for yourself then celebrate. Otherwise, keep your nasty and offensive comments to yourself and spare the rest of us.

So what is your problem? You alleging Photoshop? Or pizza delivery at night?

I explained the situation, and don't really give a crap that you "remain very skeptical".

I assume 100% reliability means the trucks never required a tow? If so, 350k without a tow is totally awesome.
