My toys will come in time. I want to focus on getting a house and a garage any way. Besides my truck is almost stock and has so far taken whatever I could throw at it.

 

question who does welding as far as welding on sliders? Wanna get them but I don't know how to weld and bolt on ones seem cheesy

 

bolt on is not cheesy. how is your truck put together? bolts or is it all welded together? there is nothing anywhere that says weld on is any stronger than bolt on.

not to hate on weld on, but I think sliders, bumpers, etc should be bolt on so you can remove it if you need too. Given now that I've had my sliders on for 3 years and have never had a reason to remove them, but if I sell or total my truck thats a few hundred dollars I can easily get back just by unbolting them.

a little more expensive to buy, but you don't have to find someone to weld them on, and if the person doesn't know what they're doing they can fuck your truck up big time.

 

Could not agree more.

Not to mention (maybe less so for you guys) but it's a freaking pain to throw them in the truck and drive them to someone and leave your truck there.

 

yep thats true too.. just inconvenient to weld them on unless you have someone that is convenient for you.



heres a pic of mine from when I first installed them. I have a dclb so mine are the longest ones you can get and its just 10 bolts per side.. 1/2" diameter grade 8 bolts are strong.

 

the bolt on ones that I saw looked really cheap, but I really like 4x innovations. But thanks Josh for the info.

 

damn so that picture made me dig through my photo bucket acct..

so the picture with the hilift shows my droop on stock leaf pack with single aal.



then this is current set up but same tires. all pro expo leaf pack, ato shackle flip, b110 shocks. look at the top of the tire in relation to the slider to see the amount of droop gained.

I forgot to tell you, with the new springs and the sway bar off I probably gained 3" of downtravel after flexing it out. Those things are awesome. i think the sway will be going back on though, the body roll isn't awesome, but I will be dropping the links so the shocks are still my limits. Then I'll wheel the piss out of it till I bust a shock and *need* to get an extended travel remote resi setup

 

sorry guys I am still learning here with all this new stuff they didn't have all these new and cool things out when I wheeled. I'm old school this is what I rolled in 20 years ago.

 

holy shit that brings back memories... my father had one and i remember him having to pull out a ladder for my grandma to climb into the truck when he had to take her some where.... i remember being in the backseat screaming grandma just jump in hahaha
