    Alright I know theres plenty of threads but heres another

    I'm in need of new tires and Im not sure which ones I want. But I don't want what I have (BFG A/T)
    I have about $1200 saved up for rims and tires and Ill be getting my tax refund soon so money isn't a big issue but still…
    What are the best tires to get for occasional offroading but mostly a DD type of thing?

    All feedback is greatly appreciated, btw rim size is looking at 15-16"

    Thanks!!

    BFG Rugged Terrain More suited for on-road driving than the A/T but still capable off-road and more aggressive looking than a pure street tire. The Hankook Dynapro ATM is a similar tire.

    The Coopers have sparked my interest, I'm liking the Discover ST Maxx

    Any other suggestions.

    I'm looking for an aggressive looking tire as well

    Anecdotal Readings found on-line written by others;
    1. General Grabber AT2 - good tire but one wrote it is easily punctured.
    2. Goodyear Wrangler SRA - poorly rated for rain traction by one
    3. BF Goodrich T/A - not so good in rain, not very popular with two authors
    4. Firestone Destination - good in rain, two belts of steel
    5. Goodyear Adventure - strong tire, good in rain, excellent construction
    6. Cooper AT3 - good in rain, good construction, some road noise

    Michelins - LTX MS2 is what I am using and their traction at high speed, emergency braking, and wet surface is seriously amazing. I carry a set of mild chains that I can throw on if I get stuck in mud on the way to a camping/fishing/hiking spot. So far they haven't let me down.

    The AT2's would be a little better off road but not as good on road. I had BFG's last and was worried about going to such a mild tire but have no regrets.
