Yup... definietly glad with my 2013 TRD off road purchase in november now that a new taco wont be released till at least 2016.

I will also note that there is a reason that our chevy 2500hd now sits on the side yard an only used to tow big stuff... we dont want to wear it out now that both me and pops have a tacoma (dads 04 has 200k on it)... and resell value on the thing is HORRIBLE.

And dont get me started on all the problems that have plauged the truck...

You can have your chevy, have fun with all the chevy problems etc, oh and it might look nice but that interior is probably going to feel like shit.

I will say though i do welcome the competition as this will push yota to produce a far superior vehicle than them.... and literally all they have to do to do that is stick the 2GR-FSE in the current tacoma and call it a day.

But on the same note, only a small percentage of truck owners actually buy aftermarket bumpers. Anyone looking to use it stock for any type of rugged road with a few humps is going to bang up their front end. It's like saying, "here is your nice capable truck, but we put a shitty low front-end on it, so you will either need to remove the valence and look like your driving a wrecked vehicle, or invest in a 500-1200 dollar bumper to achieve better clearance."

I'm curious if that is just some sort of "luxury"/street model of the Colorado? Because I never remembered seeing that crappy valence before in previous model shots.

    I'm comparing this low-ass valence:

I bet GMC/Chevy have a low valence on all models except the Z71, which will have more clearance like the red one pictured.

Very smart I think, as people wanting a town truck can get more MPG and easier access, while the offroad crowd gets more ground clearance.

Also, Jeep does the same thing with their Grand Cherokee's and ugly Cherokee's. They have very easily removed lower valence's so people that actually use them offroad can remove them before they hit the trail, then easily reinstall them when going back to grocery duties.

Those low valence trims remind me of neckbeards hehe. Nice that you can attach/remove to help with fuel economy.

GM would get a better response if they would have called it S10 or a totally new name. I know alot of people were really turned off by the original Colorado and by using that name again it's like the truck has one strike against it already. S10 fans will be looking for reman engines and new body panels before they will look at a Colorado.

Welp, those new GM trucks are gonna look broke down on the side of the road. GM isn't necessarily known for their "reliability"

I'd be curious to see the price point and mpg on the z71. I think it looks great (interior and exterior) and it would be difficult for me to pay $36k for a new tacoma in a couple years. I think GM is getting much better. Of course my '09 tacoma is a better truck than my '03 s10 was.

I'd wait longer. The 1st gen Colyons had the cylinder head failures (both the 4 and 5 cylinder). Many have also needed early timing chain replacements.

My 06 Colorado had the head failure and GM hosed me royally every step of the way.

LOL.... tell that to the 3 OEM gem alternators on my chevy 2500hd....

oh and the full transmission rebuild, torque converter replacement, transfer case rebuild, 3 front hubs, 2 full steering assemblies.... i could go on.

GM just polished a turd here.... id trust an 02 tacoma with 200k miles on her more so than a new colorado.

Next Tacoma will likely need similar aero tools to help achieve tightening cafe standards. I bet only the TRD Off Road/Pro would escape the Lower Valence.

I also expect to see a lot more standard tonneau covers in the coming years.

The GM twins don't look too bad on paper but waiting to hit a car show in my area to check them out. I Love my Tacoma. This is good for buyers because it forces manufacturers to make better products. Hopefully the next TACO is even better which I would assume it will be but we have to wait a few years to see.

I'm not being a fanboy here, but the whole stuck pedal thing was BS.

 Not doubting your issues, but if you are talking about the cruise control on, off, set etc... How are you getting it that wet to short? Only cruise control issue I've ever had on any of my vehicles was on my Dodge Ram years back. It just flat out didn't work after a few years. I never bothered to figure out what was wrong though, because I was getting rid of it soon after it stopped working.
