Can't redshirt Douglass because he played last year - a good bit, remember? I would imagine that they redshirt Sony while giving Chubb a chance to play. I don't see moving Green to WR or KR - they may move him out to the slot, but he will remain a RB. Supposedly the KR specialist will be that McKenzie (sp?) kid that Sony helped to flip...check out some of his videos.

I am not sold on Mason, hell the dude can't make a read to save his life. Go back and watch the games - he would lock on to one reciever while leaving more than one open. And don't even say he made this comeback against GT...its GT for pete's sake. I bet Ramsey overtakes his spot and is starter before half the season is over.

I wouldn't sleep on our defense next year, and I wouldn't be surprised if our first game turns into a defensive battle with both teams losing key players on offense. I expect the USC A&M game to be close.

I miss the A&M-TU rivalry so much.

Hate to say it but the A&M admin. will not go for it at this time. I personally would like to see them play, but I don't see it happening for a while.

What a smart move on his part. Right before your biggest payday you become the biggest story and most interesting draft prospect.

:notsure: A full off season could help him.
Really love Charlie Strong and what he's doing in Austin. He was a great hire for them and seems to be getting everything back under control.
Meh, if it happens it happens. I never really enjoyed it, but it would be interesting to see where the two programs stand right now if they were to match up.
A bowl game would be the best way to reintroduce it. Can you imagine somebody like the Cotton Bowl or Texas Bowl (depending on how well the teams do next year) setting that matchup?
Interesting way to think about it. Hadn't thought of the news and media coverage it brings him

McKenzie kinda scares me. I watched some of his highlights...he's quick, but he was playing against high school kids. He won't be able to reverse field 6 times during a kick return and lose 30 yards to make an 80 yard run. He might think he can, but that'll lead to a huge negative play in SEC competition...

I just can't see us red shirting a 5 star prospect, especially with Gurley more than likely leaving after this year.

^ I liked Strong too, but he seems to be getting that Longhorn (we're better) attitude. He really isn't good at press conferences IMO.

Every NFL team knew Sam was gay. That's something they go through in the interview process and his entire college team knew so he wasn't hiding it. For him to come out now at this time IMO was calculated and really smart. From a PR perspective he has no downside, but teams could face problems if they appear to pass on him now.

I think he'll drop in the draft because of it.

Don't forget that KM will be back and will be the main backup to Gurley. With those getting the majority of the snaps, it makes sense to redshirt one of them - but then again, I am not getting paid the big bucks to make those decisions. Yeah, McKenzie has only played against HS kids, but so have Chubb and Sony...

Yup...I think many owners & coaches would rather avoid any possible issues it might start.

If the scouts already knew, how is making it public going to make it worse?

Because they didn't have to deal with any potential backlash if he had already been drafted when he came out

Example....now everyone knows.....maybe even Tony Romo. And maybe Tony might express concerns about dressing & showering with a gay teammate. SO the owner or coach might hesitate drafting the guy.....make sense?

Before yes, now that it's public NFL players are much more likely to say nothing as it could cause media backlash and endorsement problems. I just think now that the media knows it will only help. It also doesn't hurt that he's a really good player.

I think they'll pass on him because they don't want the media circus that's gonna go on around him. Every reporter in the nation is gonna be at whatever training camp he ends up at.

He'll be drafted, but it'll be later than he was planned, I think.
