My theory on the baby. The baby is not only alive but is not infected. A baby born after the outbreak would have been protected in the womb. A vaccine will be made using her blood. She must be kept alive at all costs. She survived a walker bite and now everyone knows she is not infected. Or she is dead and they just didn't show it.

The placenta functions as an immunological barrier between the mother and the fetus, creating an immunologically privileged site. For this purpose, it uses several mechanisms:

It secretes Neurokinin B containing phosphocholine molecules. This is the same mechanism used by parasitic nematodes to avoid detection by the immune system of their host.[2]

Also, there is presence of small lymphocytic suppressor cells in the fetus that inhibit maternal cytotoxic T cells by inhibiting the response to interleukin 2.[1]

The placental trophoblast cells do not express the classical MHC class I isotypes HLA-A and HLA-B, unlike most other cells in the body, and this absence is assumed to prevent destruction by maternal cytotoxic T cells, which otherwise would recognize the fetal HLA-A and HLA-B molecules as foreign. On the other hand, they do express the atypical MHC class I isotypes HLA-E and HLA-G, which is assumed to prevent destruction by maternal NK cells, which otherwise destroy cells that do not express any MHC class I.[3] However, trophoblast cells do express the rather typical HLA-C.[3]

It forms a syncytium without any extracellular spaces between cells in order to limit the exchange of migratory immune cells between the developing embryo and the body of the mother (something an epithelium will not do sufficiently, as certain blood cells are specialized to be able to insert themselves between adjacent epithelial cells). The fusion of the cells is apparently caused by viral fusion proteins from endosymbiotic endogenous retrovirus (ERV).[4] An immunoevasive action was the initial normal behavior of the viral protein, in order to avail for the virus to spread to other cells by simply merging them with the infected one. It is believed that the ancestors of modern viviparous mammals evolved after an infection by this virus, enabling the fetus to better resist the immune system of the mother.[5]

Still, the placenta does allow maternal IgG antibodies to pass to the fetus to protect it against infections. However, these antibodies do not target fetal cells, unless any fetal material has escaped across the placenta where it can come in contact with maternal B cells and make those B cells start to produce antibodies against fetal targets. The mother does produce antibodies against foreign ABO blood types, where the fetal blood cells are possible targets, but these preformed antibodies are usually of the IgM type,[6] and therefore usually do not cross the placenta. Still, rarely, ABO incompatibility can give rise to IgG antibodies that cross the placenta, and are caused by sentitization of mothers (usually of blood type 0) to antigens in foods or bacteria.[7]
Other mechanisms[edit]

Still, the placental barrier is not the sole means to evade the immune system, as foreign fetal cells also persist in the maternal circulation, on the other side of the placental barrier.[8]
The placenta does not block maternal IgG antibodies, which thereby may pass through the human placenta, providing immune protection to the fetus against infectious diseases.
One model for the induction of tolerance during the very early stages of pregnancy is the Eutherian Fetoembryonic Defense System (eu-FEDS) hypothesis.[9] The basic premise of the eu-FEDS hypothesis is that both soluble and cell surface associated glycoproteins, present in the reproductive system and expressed on gametes, suppress any potential immune responses, and inhibit rejection of the fetus.[9] The eu-FEDS model further suggests that specific carbohydrate sequences (oligosaccharides) are covalently linked to these immunosuppressive glycoproteins and act as “functional groups” that suppress the immune response. The major uterine and fetal glycoproteins that are associated with the eu-FEDS model in the human include alpha-fetoprotein, CA125, and glycodelin-A (also known as placental protein 14 (PP14)).
Regulatory T cells also likely play a role.[10]
Also, a shift from cell-mediated immunity toward humoral immunity is believed to occur.[11] womb.

I am hearing the same old shit in hear that started in the SAMCRO thread, if ten people don't die in every episode someone (or three) bitch about it being a terrible episode. The show wouldn't be as good as it is if it wasn't for these slow-down, back-story, character-building episodes.

OZ-T: you lost, the thread voted and little Asskicker Judy is still alive. You are welcome to start taking bets on it if you truly believe she is dead. However, your choice of hockey teams doesn't give you credit as a good judge of anything.

We only saw the crazy girl and her sister walking down the tracks from behind, they could have been carrying Judy. The producers and writers have done their jobs, we are all out here talking about these things.

Carl's been a little bitch for the last two seasons. Hopefully now that he realized he can't do it allow and Rick realized Carl isn't in diapers anymore, we can move on.

I though when they loaded the bus, someone said we will beat at the place. So I thought the had a rendezvous location picked out. But after watching the extended sneak peak on amctv with Beth and Darryl, I am not so sure.

Damn...someone called OZ out!

The rendezvous location could be real - after all, since most (esp after the bus accident - if that is what happened) are on foot and separated, then it could take a while to meet. It would not make any sense to have the "safe house" next door to the prison, expecially if the prison were attacked and the baddies were all around, right?

We all know you are a closet Rangers fan You wouldn't have a bruins avatar if you were any good at picking teams.

If they did have a safe house, than it wouldn't have been more than a days walk/run. They wouldn't have wanted to be out in the wild for any longer than they had to on their own. They had an escape/evacuation plan, so it would make since they had a safe house or at least a rally point, but they may have decided to drop it from the scripts. who knows.... it is still good TV.

Walking Dead beat out the Olympics in ratings.

Agree that the baby is dead , and that they have a rendevous point but confused why neither Rick and Carl nor Michonne seem to be moving towards it as they were obviously going in different directions till Michonne backtracked

I think that michonne was wanting to just get back to being alone at first, reason why she made her two new pets. She say rick and bitch boys tracks towards the start of the episode and decided to ignore tthem, hence washing hands of the group, and continue on with the walkers somewhat leading the way. But then I think the group of walkers reminded her too much of the past and she went full samurai on them and headed straight back to the trail she spotted and followed it back to the house with rick and pansy in it. So the solidified that just like panty waist she didn't/couldn't face the world by herself and "needed" the group.

Just my take on what happened.
