Will do! I took a couple pictures last night, object looks in focus through LCD screen but upon upload to Lightroom the object is a bit out of focus. Not sure what's going on, been doing that lately with my Sigma 30mm lens. I'm sure my nifty fifty would have not done the same thing. Hope it's not the focus issue that it's known for. I've had the lens since last March or April of last year with no issues and the camera since September of 2010, think it's time for a professional cleaning on both the lens and camera?

About time I stopped thinking of joining this thread...

Tough challenge without a good fast short prime to play with. I need more lenses.

Nice Will, the Bokeh makes ur pups ears look extra soft! :)

Agreed on the lens. I didn't shoot mine with the kit lens. I busted out my dads old 50mm f2 prime from his 80's pentax and slapped it on my 60d with a simple adapter. Helped lots with bokeh!

Used to have a 50 1.4, loved that lens. I got out of Canon for a while and gave my lenses to family 1000 miles away. Now I'm back with Canon and all my pretty lenses are halfway across the country.

So, I'm not feeling incredibly intelligent this morning. haha

I brought only my film camera to my folks place on a 5 ay trip as sort of a personal project.

I brought my laptop and external hardrive so I could upload my photos for the challenge when I got here. What I didn't bring was my memory card from the camera. I was rushing out of the house and forgot that AND my laptop charger haha SO, it looks like I'm out on this one unfortunately.

What I did was stack all my instruments in the house at the end of my coffee table, back up a hair with my 85mm f/1.8 (128mm equiv.) and shot all the headstocks with my Christmas Tree and lights in the background. I really liked it, but I can't show y'all because the memory card is a 7.5 hour drive away . . . ha count me out :(

Get out and shoot for me, guys haha I'm bummed but oh well. There's always next week.

For me, wide open was the best option. My house doesn't have cool background noise like the cross you captured in yours. My place is just boring walls and doorways and none of them looked quite right. But you are correct, it's not the only option, poor dog got moved all over the house so I could do some distance and other options and the resulting images all came out too busy or silly (is that a TV credenza in the background). He probably thought I was nuts. :)
