Actually the step side bumper is different... there's some little pieces that sit on the end to match the step sides. Probably needs to be something custom fabbed for the step-side guys.
Anyone interested, i'd mod mine to fit. Let me know.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.

There is square 1 1/2 tubing from the wraps to the frame plates.

Just finished this bumper. My first bumper build. And yes the step side is tuff to get a bumper for thats why I made my own. It was not easy.

If it was my choice I'd go with the Relentless over the Elite for a rear bumper. Reason being it "sticks out" more. That gives you more protection from people rear ending you. Otherwise, there is a risk of a vehicle crumpling and messing up your tailgate.

Shrockworks one looks pretty sweet. Do they make it with side protection?

I know. But if you REALLY offroad, you'll just bob the bed. :p

Well you were clearly talking about departure angle. Bobbing the bed is the only real way to solve that problem on our trucks.

Eh not totally. Getting rid of the stock bumper and rear reciever gain's you about 2-3''...so..not bad.

And ill keep my storage for long long trips over bobbing..cause thats my style..i don't do that stuff..

but i have beat the shit out of my rear bumper..but thats what its there for...

I like the high clearance designs. I gained 2" of clearance in the rear. With the tube I added my tail lights are protected and I have no worries about tight turns in the ass end. Not many people build them anymore. But a good shop like CBI will still make a custom bumper.

I chose to build my own because I'm cheap.

I have the elite rear with the wrap arounds and have beat the shit out of it and it has held up great. I wouldn't trade it for any other bumper.
