Yeah Bad...I hope you have thought about this long and hard. There are ways around the kids thing...and sorry to get all negative on your thread- but the wretched husband thing sounds like an excuse/cop out for something else.

I hope that it works out the way you want...Best of luck.

Keep in mind, I haven't been a cop for a long time. And NO, I am not getting out to make a booty call.

Even without having kids it is going to be rough on you. It took me ten years to get over a divorce with 2 kids. Things in common are manufactured by two people who want to make it work. You don't have to spend all your off time with her so some things in common still leaves you time to do things you like to do. Plenty of options for kids. Kids are great and one of the best things in my prior life but that page has turned and now life is still great just different. Think long and hard before you turn down this road your bent on. May be some advice from trusted friends that doesn't have a dog in this fight. But what ever you decide it is going to take a lot of guts and determination. Also a lot of support and prayers. My prayers are with you. Hopefully you have a lot of support.

Sorry to hear it man. 2 of my 3 sibling-in-laws (wife's sisters) are going through the same thing. After trying to split, they both came back because they realized the grass wasn't greener on the other side. They are both going to counseling and that is HIGHLY recommended before pulling the plug on the marriage.

Regarding kids, adapt; find a donor/carrier...there are many solutions to a problem that many suffer from. Wow will she feel shitty if that comes up as one reason you are splitting. If it's a health reason, she can't control that. You BOTH need to live with that problem.

My wife has crohn's and I adapt my lifestyle around it. It's not her fault. We watch what we eat, where we go, what we bring, etc. That's what 2 people decide to do when they mend their lives together.

In whatever you do, I wish you BOTH the best of luck.

I agree with Scooter. It has been my experience that if you both don't want to make it work then it won't. My ex-wife did this to me so I guess I have a one-sided opinion.

Good like dude, hopefully you're putting the necessary time into thinking about it. I'll be prayin for ya both.

 It's not 15 years being thrown away. It's 15 years lived and experienced. People grow and perspective changes as they experience life. If they can no longer grow as individuals and/or as a couple in the situation they're currently in, it's time to move on.

He clearly hasn't made this decision on a whim and obviously feels horrible about it. No reason to beat the guy up and make him feel worse.

I think Miikeyd said it best. Think about the decision really hard. That is a Huge step to take. Good Luck to you both. A broken heart isnt fun for anyone, even when you both separate on good terms.
