What is the correct psi to be running on these tires for mainly city and some highway driving? Everything I read on the tire say's "at 80psi". I'm at 30 right now, do I need to fill them up?

I run mine at 40-50PSI. 80PSI is the max, you will have a bone jarring ride as well, I am sure of it. Haha

Oh yeah, what's the best psi for mileage?

I had them sitting at 45 PSI and was wondering why my ride was so rough.. brought them down to the trucks factory specs of 32 PSI and now it rides smooth as can be

Put in 3lb more than the door sticker says. It says in some manuals to do this for high speed driving as it will keep them running cooler and will also increase MPGs.

Here is my observation, I have the BFG AT's (SL load rated).....In an effort to increase gas mileage I ran them 31 front, 35 rear....after thousands of miles I noticed the center of the tire tread was wearing much faster than the outside tread...the are 265's mounted on 2nd gen 17" Alloys....the door sticker calls for 26 front and 29 rear...mounted on a 2nd gen Tacoma, the door sticker states 29/32....

Also, the extra 6 lbs of pressure only netted me .2 of a miles more per gallon than what the door sticker calls for...

So, back to the 26/29, smoother ride, a little less MPG, I pump the rears up when I am loaded with weight in bed...1st gens weigh less, thus less air is needed than a 2nd gen...

I doubt seriously that I will make the rated 60,000 tread life warranty before these need replacement....the Michelin's I had on before these tires had tread left when they hit the 70,000 they were warrantied for, but with winter coming soon, I decided to get new treads...

    YMMV...

My door jam reads 29 psi for front and rear but it was for the stock Dunlaps it came with at 245/75/16. Should I run that psi on my AT's?

My door jamb reads 46 but that is on a Baja with BFG ATs from factory.

Then I would think that would be a pretty good starting point/average for all BFG AT's.... No?

In the Owner Manual for my 2013 4x4, it says to run 245s at 30psi and 265s at 35psi. I'm not sure what brand of 265 tires come stock on a Tacoma but you should be ok with 35psi in the BFGs.

Thanks for the input. I ram them at what my door jam says 29psi and it made my ride bumpy, planning on going to gas station today to run them at 32psi. Planning on a 200 mile highway trip tomorrow.

The door jamb is for stock tires not aftermarkets. You are not going to get incredible mileage using E-rated 10 ply tires on a Tacoma. The tread will last at least 50,000 miles. I usually run mine around 33-34 up front and 34-35 in the rear. Great tires, I am on my second set. To really fine tune your set-up, do the chalk test.

Remember to check and adjust psi when the tires are COLD..... If not, u may have to figure in heat. If u want a certain psi but dont have a compressor or gas station nearby, check the psi when they are cold before u drive.

Then figure out how much u want to add..... Say its 2psi.... Then get to gas station..... Recheck psi, add 2 over whatever it says.

Good luck, and I agree that the chalk line is a good starting point.
