Yeah, which is why I usually do the welded nut as a last resort. But that's typically after I've ruined the threads with extractors and vise grips, haha!
I meant it more along the lines of threading the nut on and welding it in place right from the beginning. It'd probably save a ton of time over drilling and tapping new threads.

 

Ill likely just drill it out. Ive got to go to lowes and get a step bit to drill for my sliders anyways

Only reason I would out wheel billy is because I have an older truck that has seen some abuse. A dent or scratch doesn't scare me anymore.

So funny thing happened last night, i am still hurting pretty bad but i will be good in a few days. After a few beers i remembered i had to take the trash to the curb. Went out in a t-shirt so i was rushing because i was cold. I keep the recycling bin on the deck and never shoveled the stairs. So big blue bin brimmed with bottle and cans in hand and the first or second stair my feet shot right out from under me. Pretty much threw the bin in the air, came down HARD on my ass and slid down the entire flight of stairs on my back, my deck is a good 8 feet up so its not just a few stairs. Empty bottles and cans raining down on me, my shirt slid up so i am bareback in the snow at the bottom of the stairs. My girlfriend said the whole house shook and she thought there was a car accident or something.

 

Ouch! Hope you're alright. I did something similar in my house stairs a couple months ago and I'm still feeling the results. Hopefully yours goes away in a few days.
