previously was going to go prerunner look as the Pismo life has bit me hard. But im trying to save for a house and get out of my apt life. So my wants/life dont match up so im embracing the std 4runner look. Lift it as high as you can, stuff whatever you can under it. Plus the basket would help a ton on my trips and for work.

but you do have to look at it every day, don't forget. thats what I tell myself to justify the outrageous amount of money im putting toward the truck instead of the house fund. fuck renting. :goingcrazy:

i hear that. I signed another 12mo lease for where im at. Nothing wrong persay where im at now, its a higher end complex. Gated community and it prices out the scummy tenants but little things are starting to irritate me. Cannot wait to be in a house. My tax return paid off my credit cards. I have about 2k left to payback to my brother then im 100% debt free and will stash as much cash as humanly possible for a down on a house before they get too expensive again as its already starting the rise quickly.

yeah thats my goal, buy while the market is down, hopefully within 2-3 years. My spot sucks and im moving when I graduate and ill be living in a pretty swanky apartment since rent is cheap when you split it two ways, but housing in and around DC is crazy $$. Hoping to save a lot for a big down payment and good mortgage. Can't wait to have my own space and a garage, or at least a driveway to work in.

word to it being a lot easier when splitting it. We pay 1070 for our 1 bedroom 900sqft apt. Were upstairs so we dont have anyone above us. The things that bug me are minor and ive been working from home so it amplifies it. This year i should be buying a building and warehouse so ill be able to work from there. Being home all the time takes it toll. At least if i had a house id be able to go screw with whatever quickly then get back to work.

Im very thankful to have my parents live so close so i just go over there.

Yeah that would be nice, im an hour and a half from my parents. My rent now is just about the same, its ike 1200 with utilities and shit.

When I move it's going to be 12-1500 each...

hot damn. Ive thought about moving into super swanky apartments across town but i dont think i could fork out the same amount for an apt as i could for a house. $1900 seems to be typical rental home price around here.

DC is crazy expensive, and to thing that Arlington area isn't even the most expensive at that price.

Yeah, It's kind of bifurcated in that you can live in the total ghetto or a swanky expensive apt., no real middle ground, plus I've lived in shit holes all 4 years of college, i'm finally making enough to pay all my rent and I wanna live somewhere nice that I can look forward to going home to after working 15 hour days

    Correct.

good god. 15 hours? I technically am always on the clock but its different because i have a ton of free time even while being insanely busy if that makes sense.

I do like coming home but it would be nicer if i wasnt here 70% of my day.

yep I know that feeling. Yeah, my day is "830-630" but may require me to work "nights and weekends" depending on the clients and stuff. AKA I'll be working a lot. Supposedly the average week is like 830-7 and one or two nights till 8 or 9.

sounds like me. I took a call last night at 8pm from a client and worked until 10. But today i only have turned in a bid so i cant really complain. Best part of my job is i get to take clients golfing/baseball games.

yeah i will get to do none of that except sit in a board room and listen to clients whine.

Thats what I do now. I wish I could do it forever and just grow my money tree.
