Ah OK. Were you on dirt or asphalt? I ride downhill MTB so that's why I ask. I was bombing some cliffs/hills the other weekend.

    .
The thought of this bike flying to pieces is never far from my mind.

Asphalt, two roads up, Northgate and Southgate. Southgate is fast and a little tricky but Northgate is much steeper. There's a section the locals call "The Bump" which is three miles of 10% grade you can go as fast as you dare. There are blind corners, a few hairpins and a couple of double apex turns that will send you flying if you guess them wrong. Picking your line into the turns is key because the road is narrow and you can find yourself running out of asphalt in a hurry.

Cool thanks. Ya a friend gave me the frame a few yrs back and i built it up only got to take it Downyville twice and auburn a few times. Then everyone i rode with sold there bikes or moved out of state. It just sits in the garage. Now im to big for it. And way out of shape. Ive put on about 40lbs since the last time i road it on a trail.every now and then o pull it out air up the tires check everything and park it . Dam getting old can suck! Lol

It's not a trail bike! Riding it on the trails is a good way to lose those 40 pounds though... If you sell it, we can't ride Downyville.

Hush.. I might be older than you.

I've always wanted to take mine to Downieville but never did. I get passes every year to Sea Otter. I get two nights stay, meal vouchers and entry fees. Because I work on weekends, and can't get both days off if I ask for it off, I usually give them away.

I could rent a bike for that! And your right about riding to loose weight although i ride everyday at work on a state owned specialized pos as a way to save tax payers and be green. Its really degrading when i go out as an electrician on a bicycle dressed in a dam uniform.but i get good benefits.

Not sure if I can make it to MOD day, but I do have a Dremel you can use. If you need it sooner, we can meet somewhere.
