Vid 3- Time for new tires? Looked like the 1st gen had more trouble climbing the hill, but my '99 was a tank in the snow...

 

IDK how the tread depth was but he was running BFG TA's and all of us 2nd gens were using Duratracks so that might have been a little difference.

 

I made a sweet video of the snow run jake and i went on, but had problems converting it with the go pro software, maybe ill try again tonight. I went first on that section and had issues getting momentum and traction, so i ended up taking the line to the right which was pretty tough and i ended up with some good wheel rash. After seeing me struggle Jake aired down more, we were both at ~15 psi and i think he went down to 10 or lower, and he powered right up that ledge no problem in a low gear and high rpms

Officially in the "MPG LOL" club. Went from a 265/65/17 to a 285/70/17. Minimal rubbing. Only in reverse and turning hard.
First take on the Cooper Discover ST MAXX at 9/32 is they suck on ice compared to my Michelin LTX m/s2. For an E rated tire, the ST MAXX ride smooth and I can barely notice a difference in ride. I expected the noise level to be flat out loud. Fact is my exhaust with cap still drowns them out. Being these tires are wider, the truck does feel more stable. The tires do grip the road surface more at slower speeds allowing me to feel the road more in the steering wheel. So far I like the look and the raised stance.

That rubbing in reverse is probably the plastic nub that sticks out from the front bumper. That was the first piece I cut off when I put 285s on .

 

so my schedule is full tomorrow before the big storm, besides work, I have to bring my sister's car to the shop tomorrow to get it checked out, feels like im riding on a basketball when it goes over bumps
