Well it appears that after the last family vacation and stuffing everything into the Taco for 12hrs my truck has not become a family favorite. With that being said I stopped by the ole stealership this afternoon and decided to pursue a 2014 4Runner Trail as my new truck...

I have not contacted anyone at the dealership nor talked number. I owe $20,900 on the truck and it has just over 18k miles. Based on those that have knowledge, what would you suggest I ask on my truck as it sits (rails, suspension, springs, etc).

    Thanks for any input

Can't help you out with price, but dealers won't give you much for ad ons, as someone on here might be willing to pay more for your truck because it has whatever it has.
    Something to consider.

Lol. Or more likely dealer won't value add ons taking the trade but will double the value when trying to sell

If you can do it, private sale is your best bet.

You never know these days. Those guys move the money around so much on trade in. I traded in my clapped out 02 ranger 150k 3.0 with a bent push rod, collapsed valve spring, crack allll the way across the windshield, shocks were like a pogo stick. It was the third car and didn't want to even deal with trying to sell it. Figured $500 and it's out of my life. Bastards gave me 4200? Im sure they will pay it off and get you into a runner without putting any money down. Privately it's hard to sell newer Tacoma's. I would start @26k and see what kind of bites you get.

I can tell ya for sure the dealer dont care about your add ons. Its all about just moving a car...its a numbers game. My suggestion, take off what you can and sell it here or on craigslist. Im in the process of doing just that myself. I bought enough cars in my time to know the game pretty well. Its virtually never a "deal". They wont sell you a car unless they are making money, thats just the plain truth. The question you have to ask yourself is.....How much do I wanna let them make off me? Thats where negotiating comes in. Be persistant and dont take their first offer or the 3rd, 5th 6th. not until you are comfortable with the overall amount you are gonna finance. Try and call a bank or a credit union and get the black book value. They will give you a pretty good rough estimate as to what its worth. Good luck bro

Thank you, I was informed that "blackbook" on my truck was $24,500 based on mileage alone.

Thats cool, also as far as the black book goes. I always call my credit union everytime prior to go to look incase i end up negotiating I know where i need to be. I never trust the internet as far as what you find for the black book. Here by me I was told by a couple lending institutions that dealers and auctioners use the blackbook. kelly blue book and all the other b.s. you stumble across online is in my experience and opinion just that b.s. So make sure you hear it from a lending institution. Know what rate you can qualify for too. That is just as important.

Ditch all the add ons and sell them here!

I was looking to possibly trade in my 2011 ford focus to get my tacoma. They didn't want to add anything for the Factory lip kit I had put on, factory spoiler, retrofits, SES model rims, tint etc and would only give me $10k.

But the Ford dealership was wanting to give me $12k (toyota dealer didn't believe it) just because of the add ons.

"well we can get a focus at manheim for $10k"

Yeah and it looks like crap! The focus is now the girlfriends :D
