    Diesel Hilux Swap- they swap your tacoma engine with a 3.0 Turbocharged Diesel engine, throw a chip in it and bam. Solid Gold.
    these people look like the best company to go through, but prices look like they range (out the door) from 20-35,000

    way above my price range. but good for mental masturbation. my plan is this, then LT kit front and rear then win baja.

    anyone else done this? want to do it? experience with it?

    I'll figure out some way to get around to it down the road :cool:

    ^^ that's what I was thinking. I mean at 25K, how expensive could a brand new Diesel crate engine straight from Toyota be??

    but then there's the labor.... And I've got ATRAC and 4x4 and all that crap and If I'm buying a new engine for my 2013, everything better work better when I'm done, not lose functionality.

    The D4D doesn't meet US emissions standards for diesels. This means you couldn't register one until its 25 years old as per NHTSA standards.

    I guess if it falls below federal standards that's a moot point as is...

    It's less Tacoma and more mod
    I'm a cheap bastard and the Japanese importer guys around here bring in front clips from 4Runners all the time. So I always see them offering 1KZ-TE engines, harnesses, basically everything including 4WD tranny for 1,500 out the door. Then I could swap it in at my leisure.
