Help! Rear seat storage issue!

Went to get into my rear seat storage and the material came right out the hole. Anyone had this happen? How did you fix it? Going to try a clothes hanger in the meant time.

Stuffing a coat hanger in the hole? There's a joke to be made out of that...

 

best fix is to remove all those crappy plastic bins and get a grinder, grind flat and put amps. speakers,inverters and other useful toys in that space

I haven't tried this on a Tacoma, but you need to: Remove the seat base from the truck. Remove the upholstery from the seat base. Sew. Reinstall. A package of suitable needles for doing it by hand should be available in most fabric stores. Any upholstery shop should be able to repair it in a few minutes.

 

No permanent fix yet but once you remove the head rest and the plastic where the seat belt comes out you can shine a flashlight in there too see the lever that that the fabric was attached too. I was able to get a clothes hanger around it and disengage the latch. The lever is L shaped with a hole for a screw at the end, which holds on the fabric. The screw must of came out. Put my clothes hanger right through the hole and popped it open. No need to dismantle the seat... Thankfully.
