Idaho BS thread in the PNW

Depends on your wheels and tires, possibly ride height too.

I bought my Tacoma with 265/70R16 Michelin LTX AT's that were on 16x8" wheels with 4.5" BS. Had 5100's set at 0.85 and my chains cleared the UCA just fine the couple of times I ran them.

They still clear now but I have 255/85's on the same wheels and LR UCA's. Have yet to need them with the KM2'S though.

If you are running OEM wheels they probably won't clear though. 5.25" BS will put them into the UCA's as you said.

 

Forgot to mention with all that, that given what the weather has been like (it's raining here right now) I doubt you will even need chains...

 

Yeah that's what I was thinking but I will probably be up there for about two weeks so we'll see what the weather brings.

 

Yeah wouldn't hurt to have rear chains. Chains slow you down so much that I doubt you will need fronts for street driving. Maybe if you plan on doing so offroading up there they might be useful.

 

Kinda doubt I will be wheelin, either way, better safe than sorry.

Looks like it survived though! I think it just went around so fast that the driver was too disoriented to know what the fuck just happened. haha

 

no it didn't. The entire front passenger CO came off at the top..probably the driver too..haha

 

I am not sure it would have really matter what he was running after that.

 

Yep. I missed that. Looks like the driver side stayed mounted though. That front end must be light as hell because losing that C/O didn't cause him to lose much if any ride height.

 

feel accomplished. finally finished cleaning and replacing the seals and adding a spacer to the front forks



before they leaked just having weight on them and would compress by just pushing them down, now i can lean on them and they stay firm and dont bottom out. cant wait to get these suckers on and ride down my street without bottoming out on every damn bump and pothole in the road.
