Solid rear window

I saw recently another TW member that had a TRD truck, but with a solid rear window (no sliding window) just like the regular cabs. I LOVED the way this looked.

Does that mean that the regular cab window will fit as a replacement directly to the bigger trucks? It should right?

EDIT 10-8-2009: Long story short. Got a new rear window, and it's SOLID! Took some coaxing, but I got it covered under warranty.

It should, because they both have the same size window; e.g. the driver/passenger/back windows are the same size in both trucks.

I wish it was solid, but still slid downward, like on the Tundras.

 

I have a solid rear window I want to trade.... would like sliding so I could put lumber through it.

reg cab 4x4 usually come with a slider , mine did, but yea both should be the same fit, no experience on swapping em though.

 

not all reg cabs are solid windows. Mines a slider.

You could check to see if the part numbers are the same for sliders on all cab versions.

 

i want to swap a oem locking axle& wiring into my reg cab, then get sock monkey to make me a "microTRD" badge! $$$CHING!

I have also inquired about this and I want to say somebody said that it would be a real PITA to get the rear window out. They said it was fastened and glued all the way around. If anybody comes up with an easy way to get the rear window out, i would switch to solid in a heartbeat!!

What exactly are the benefits of the sliding rear window that the side windows can't provide? I have a rear slider but can't forsee using it for anything.

 

It is much easier to throw your empty beer cans into the bed out the back instead of the behind the back over the cab floater.
