Tacoma recall 2012-2013

Just saw this on the news. Software update required.

ive never had to deal with a recall, do i just take my truck to the closest dealership?

 

They will mail you

 

You can wait for a recall notice to hit your mail box or call your nearest Toyota dealer and ask them how they are handling the recall. They may tell you to bring it in or wait for the recall notice. But do call.....

They also mentioned you will get a letter in the mail because the recalls are VIN specific.

Took me 5 minutes, the lady checked my account, ran my VIN and said my VIN was not in the recall.

You can enter your VIN directly into the Toyota web site to find out if you are affected. I just ran my 2013's VIN and nothing came back, but this was just announced the other day so I will be checking again in a month or so just to be safe:
