That isn't legal unless you work for the government. Only Department of Fish and Wildlife employees get to use poison (legally). Besides, it's much more entertaining to fling sharp sticks at critters that can eat you. I got a bear a year ago with a recurve bow that was hand made on the Yakima indian reservation in 1972. It was interesting.

I usually surround our camp with claymores and make sure I have a bug out bag in the truck full of MRE's , hand grenades and paracord , I sleep with an AK47 that I have set up with 30 round mags jungle clipped , I also dig a moat around the area and fill it with antifreeze

Actually, that's a good strategy if you're camping yourself only. You mark your territory. A better strategy is have a dog with you if you're on your own. Dogs give a quick alert, they're on anything that comes close to the camp.

 

I mark my territory indoors. I like to think it causes burglars to turn around.

those bears need to be odd to swim from island to island, probably laughed at by seals along the way. Out in the Broken Group islands, wolves have paddled their way out from the mainland, not sure if they stick around though. As you know bears are really good swimmers though; i was lucky enough to watch one cross a river, and was impressed.
