just buy a M3 when you get there and enjoy!! it's a toss up... FJ is smaller and more manuverable on the steets that tend to get pretty narrow at times or the tacoma has less blind spots for the smaller quicker traffic but longer and limited manuverablity... hmmm I would go BMW M3 or the FJ.

Good Luck & enjoy Europe it's fun! use the train it's easy and cheap!

The wife told me today she wants to take both cars now.. bc I was like look.. we can either spend 2-3K taking our cars back and forth or we can by a car for 2-3k when we get there.. so which would you rather have a shit car or your FJ..

I probobly would be but at the same time im not really lookin forward to paying $300+ a month for a car that is here in the states in storage. and I want my truck, and the wife informed me if we dont take the FJ for her to drive she is taking my Truck bc she wont be driving a car over there with the baby she wants to feel safe.. so i think my next plan is to convience her to let me order my ToyTec lift

Take the Fj... Sell it to a german and make a boatload of cash. When I was over there they loved anything that was not made in europe, import taxes are outrageous for a local for a local to buy a Japanese car or an american car. On the downside both vehicle suck gas and I think it is still rationed over there for the Military.

Also I was there from 86 - 90 and I spent 4,000 on a German spec BMW 745. That thing would float down the road at 140 mph.

Just read your statement about the wife wanting a safer car, Dude the german safety inspections over there are insane... I saw a brand new cadillac fail the inspection, it had 150 miles on it. The german inspectors on base said the exhaust was to close to the gas tank. It took that chief two weeks and a custom exhaust before it would pass and he got his tags. All the german cars over there are safer than what your driving now.

try and pick a diesel car if you can. Diesel is soo much cheaper than regular petrol there. My uncle has a 1.3 TDI Mercedes SUV and that things books for how small the engine is.

Just take both of your cars. It really is not that expensive to do. I talked to the transportation guys today and they priced my Mazdaspeed 6 at $1200 and my 07 Tacoma at $900 to ship. The Military pays for one and I pay for the other one so I am having them send the Mazda and I am picking up the tab on the Tacoma. You can get 1 month advanced pay before you go anyway..

I have to call the car moving people in a couple of weeks so I will ask them how much it would cost for both of yours. The only difference would be the drop off point, mine is in Dallas so it is fairly close. I know that in the Army you can get a deferment for your orders but am not sure about the AF. You just need to talk to who ever does your orders. Keep them informned is all.

Looking forward to going now. Just getting the truck ready to take over, got my Tacoma World sticker ready to put on.

Uh . . . better listen to this guy. He seems like he really has his shiz together.

That's great you get to take them both. I was going to vote for the Taco but was going to suggest getting a cap for more secure storage.
