On Saturday 02/08/14 I was driving south bound on state highway 75 in the Richardson area and hit what appeared to be the only patch of black ice. My truck swerved to the right and hit the right rear corner of my bumper on the concrete median. The truck then spun counter clockwise and struck the wall with my front end. After that I slid across 5 lanes of traffic facing on coming traffic. As three cars avoided hitting me head on I thought to myself, "How in the hell am I going to get out of this." After I came to a complete stop, I drove off the freeway and started cutting all the hanging parts and drove it home going about 60mph.
Luckily for me I was not hurt, just a little sore. I dropped of my truck at the body shop and met with the adjuster. Now its just a waiting game....

Time for steel front and rear bumpers. Maybe a spare tire swing out on the ass end and a nice winch up front.

Dang, that sucks man. Same basically happened to me, but I slid into a higher guard rail so it dented in my rear driverside bedside and put some dents/scratches alongside. My front end got smashed in the corner just like yours. The work the guy is doing including tax, labor, parts, other fees was $6500. It looks like yours is a lot less worse, so shouldn't be more than half that I think

    Glad you're ok.

Didn't you just get it out of the body shop?

Sucks but I'm glad to hear you made it out ok. This has been a bad winter all over. When I spun on black ice last month it was on an old lift bridge, the beam I hit flipped my truck, totalled it.
Did the insurance co give you any grief over not having a police accident report?

They totalled out my truck yesterday, so I'm in the market for a new Tacoma....
The frame was pushed in and bent at an angle.
