I worked at the Malibu/Moomba/Supra dealer in Shreveport. Summers were awesome! Our demo was priced out around 80-85k. Full Wet Sounds speakers and all the goodies

 

You can get a used Tahoe for 40k, when I say used I mean a rich guy bought it and used it once and never used it again. I contemplated for so long to get one, they pop up on CL every few months or so.

The LSU team doesn't have a boat, they just have a ton of guys with boats. One guy has a brand new X-Star that's pretty awesome

 

i love the x-star. got to play around with one when my parents were looking at their new boat. we were actually looking at the x-2 when they first releasted the pickle-fork bow, but they had a star in the water at the same time, so i couldn't resist a test drive.

because of what they use the boat for when my brother and I aren't around though, they opted for the cheaper, but signifficantly faster searay, with the wakeboard package.

 

I learned behind a Tournament Team Supra 24SSV with 500lb of extra ballast, then perfected everything behind my girlfriends Sea Ray 190 using the tow hook

i feel ya. years and years ago, i learned to waterski behind a 13 foot boston whaler, and then how to wakeboard behind a 16 foot whaler......not the most ideal righ for either. fun none the less though
