cellphone scratches - removal

hey guys,

just wondering if any one has tips on how to remove scratches off of a cell phone screen?

 

pretty much it cant unless you replace the screen.

 

I've never tried it...so i do't actually know if it works or not.....
but i've seen this:


Mobile telephone displays scratch very easily and thus appear shabby and unsightly. Only a few manufacturers offer replacement displays and even then the exchange is usually very costly.

DISPLEX offers a simple solution for this widespread customer problem. With this new type of special polishing paste, end users have for the first time the possibility of eliminating the scratches in their mobile phone displays quickly and cost-effectively in a do-it-yourself process.

Apply some DISPLEX to the mobile phone display. Polish the scratched areas with heavy pressure for 2-3 minutes with a soft, clean cotton cloth. Repeat application as necessary for deep scratches. Remove residue Attention: do not polish coated surfaces; treat the transpar-ent part of the display lens exclusively. Contents of tube of 5 g is sufficient for approx. 8-10 applications.

The plastic lens is lightly dissolved and polished with fine abrasive particles. The corners of the scratch traces are rounded off and the fissure bottom filled out with the material of the lens itself.

This item is non-returnable because it includes LCD cleaning solution and cannot be returned to the manufacturer.

This item can be used to clean all cell phones/PDA/ipod/mp3 players/PSP LCD displays.

Attention: use only on non-coated surfaces and plastics; when used on mobile phones, treat only the transparent portions of the display lens. Not for use with touch screen displays

 

Take a sauce pan fill with light olive oil put on stove set to High.. once the oil starts to simmer set phone un pan face down.. let cook for 10 min.. once its good and well done.. go to store and claim the phone was sittin on the dash of your truck while visiting a friends house in the South Western USA and the high temperature melted your poorly made Canadian phone, collect new free, better Phone.

Or get an Iphone, heard they don't scratch that often.

 

Mine doesn't have a scratch. *knock on wood*

 

Hit screen with 2000 grit or higher then polish. After polishing go buy those protective screen covers. If you own an iphone or touch you should have already purchased some or else your playing with fire.

 

nah i just have a LG shine slider.

 

I don't know how to remove them but If I remember right, 3M company sells some covers for the screens. Or just put clear tape over it like me to help protect it. lol

 

Try motorcycle face shield / windscreen polish.

I've also used regular Brasso metal polish. It works to polish the plastics I've used it on. Try it on a hidden spot of your phone to make sure it doesn't dissolve it or something!
