Bird feeder may be a threat to your Taco.

I also think traps are great, then you throw the trap in a bucket of water and drown the rat..... I have tried traps and after a while they learn to leave it alone. Feed stores sell black boxes to put the posion in that the dogs/cats can not get in..... You tube has some good ways to get rid of the rats with a bucket. Gee in the end the rats DROWN

 

I've never seen a cougar in the wild, seen their tracks in SoCal. They're some sneaky devils. We used to live in Pine Valley, CA, and you could hear the rangers shooting them at night, predation permits. A rancher would find one of his sheep or calf killed and would notify the authorities, they'd find the buried carcass that the cougar left to feed on later, then would wait at night until the cougar came back to feed and then shoot it. If I remember right there's somewhere around 300 cougars killed in SoCal each year under predation permits.

 

Birdfeeders suck. My next door neighbors have 2 very low to ground and right next to my driveway on the other side of their bushes. (circled in red) Normally in winter, no birdshit around or on my truck. Since these damn things been around, shit and bird seed fragments all around. I'm gonna pour some anti-freeze in the feeders I think...

Nah, I figured "Render unto Caesar what Caesar is due." The bear wanted it more than I wanted to tangle with a bear . . . .

The Lab wanted to tangle with the bear, that mutt has tangled with coyotes before, but I figured let it go. Not the first time there had been a bear in the neighborhood, not the last. There was a mother bear came through with three cubs, I'm dang glad I didn't walk out of the house that night and run smack dab into that. That could have got ugly real quick . . . .

 

Truth. This thread makes me hate people even more.

 

Cubs are cute until mommy bear shows up. Then shit his the fan.

moving the birdfeeders would be easier and leave less of a mess. After all your neighbour might just shoot you for putting in the antifreeze.

 

.....much better than antifreeze, or birdseed.
