Think I"m going to attempt the steering rack myself soon. $299 for a rebuilt rack at Phoenix Rack n Axle, not bad.

Pshhh... Like that's ever stopped any of us.

 

Two lines and four bolts. Should be a walk in the park. Just have to measure tie rod ends before install of new rack. Price aint bad, that's actually pretty cheap.

Hardest part is having to cut the one bolt, or remove the a/c compressor on the 4.0L. Otherwise not much to it... and worth saving the $340 labor they wanted lol.

Most would go to just remove the compressor.

 

Are you going to put a cover over that tire?

The lines flex do they not? All you have to do is remove and set aside or is it tighter then that?
