hows yer weather?

stopped here hours ago... what a joke. 6-10" and "state of mergency".

Only 3/4 of the office called out here today. no idea why someone would take PTO time instead of coming to work. Phones are dead, no ones here, no customers are working....it's like a day off just at work.

Fed-Ex and UPS are even delivering.

 

all precipitation has stopped. roads are clearing, ok to drive on now. Gonna be slick later when the water re-freezes. Still lots of places without power. Got about a good inch of ice, between frozen pellets and ice on top of it. Then a flurry of snow on top for good measure.

Work was closed, pretty sure no power. Probably a good thing since the roads were nasty earlier.

Good you could go in and not have to take a day off.

 

I H8 icey rain. This year we had it multiple times for the first time since I was a kid riding my BMX bike around 20 some years ago.

That makes me wonder... we have 110,000 sqft of solar on the roof. I wonder if we loose electric if we would still have powaz if the panels weren't covered by snow.?.

is it direct power or you have batteries to store and release when you need it?

 

Good question.... I think it feeds directly into the grid when we don't use it. I haven't seen a battery room, but in our warehouse it's easy to miss things. I had no idea they just set up a new 20' x 20' paint booth/clean room a couple weeks ago until we had a meeting saying we can ramp up paint production 50%

 

I haven't looked outside. But it was sunny and 60 yesterday.

 

Adam, your job must suck at times. Out of the blue I was having problems with IE 11 not working properly. Took me an hour and a half trying to fix it and then deleting it and adding it back in. It is working for now. Glad I had a copy of Firefox installed.

Time for me to go play in the snow with the truck.

Need to take my son over to a friends house to feed their pets.

 

There are times that it is frustrating. Other times it seems pretty rewarding too. It's a toss up.

 

I know I was just venting. I needed to do some research for a New England vacation this summer and ended up fixing the computer. I really need a new one up here in my computer room. This one is about 6 years old. I bought a new one 2 years ago and my son quickly figured out his games played a lot better on that one. I lost it to the downstairs homework room at the request, , of my wife.

 

old computers can run surprisingly well when you add more memory and put in an SSD.

work has no power. Thank goodness I have power at home... It went out three times last night for a couple of seconds each time. Not complaining, since it didn't stay out

 

I think the sun went away in Mid November this year and has had a real hard time coming back out.
