Yess sir. There are slight restrictions like if you have had priors but in general the normal person could have a gun in their pants. Makes car jacking a little more fun for us law abiding citizens here

Also no mag restrictions, quick release restrictions, blah blah blah...... We really dont care here and crime is not through the roof, go figure

 

yah. I will miss the beach a little but honestly, I feel like its worth what you gain in AZ. Everyone is a lot nicer (personal experience) and AZ seems like a state that has a lot of growth going on.

I was reading that only phoenix and tempe have smog checks. Is that true? Sorry for my newbness

 

It depends on the county. Maricopa, Pima have emissions tests that I know of off the top of my head. Registration is almost twice as expensive in Maricopa compared to some other counties. I believe Prescott is in Yavapai county. Not sure what their requirements. Oh Prescott is pronounced Prescett.

 

Anyone know a good deal on 35's. If I can find a better deal than on the 255's I am looking at I would be interested. Anything online, deals through discount etc.

 

Haha. Ya my folks found that out right when they moved! "Preskit" lol. You are correct. Prescott is in Yavapai county. I will only be in Prescott till may then I will move to Flagstaff (Cococino County). I'll have to check out the smog tests. Do you know how they compare to CA? I have a cold air intake, that's why I ask. Wondering if I need to go to stock for that.

 

I think you can have the cold air intake on it but some smog places may fail you for it. I can't remember off the top of my head but I know some norcal members that I wheeled with had to swap in their stock stuff before getting smogged.

 

I am pretty sure AZ is a breeze compared to CA.

 

You pull in, they check if you have a CEl, they plug into your gas tank for like 1 minute then your good to go. I just had my truck done

Pinal County does not require smog checks

 

Maricopa city is in Pinal county and they require it... My aunt had to get it

 

Either BFG KM2's, Toyo MT's, or the Coopers. Dont know enough about the bighorns to even add them to my list.

 

OBD-II does not require smog, unless diesel.

 

Last I knew, only Maricopa and Pima counties had emissions testing in Arizona. With Pinal county soon to start.

 

The emissions test is just a plug in for vehicles equipped with OBD-II. Anything without it gets the old exhaust test.

 

Up here in the mountains as long as the vehicle is registered to a address here you never have to do emissions

 

Kind of correct. Most cases for vehicles 5 model years or older you only have to pass a visual inspection for OBD II equipped vehicles because ODB is sampling for you. However if the vehicle is a stripped chassis or modified chassis (motorhome, box truck, etc) you still have to perform the sniff test. Pinal, Maricopa, and Pima have emission inspections

 

I have the stupid p0440 (i think) and have a emissions text coming up soon, will clearing the codes before the test work? It comes on every like 100 miles...

 

Possible but most likely not. I dont know codes exact for Tacomas but I think that is the O2 code. You can pass emissions with one trouble code pending or stored but O2 is a dominant sensor, if it does not report ready the system will not report ready and its a fail. Coolant, O2, and a few others are dominant sensors and must work to pass

 

Not right before as the system will need to do self diag before it is ready for the test facility. Found this video pertaining to that code.
