I finally installed my ecgs bushing and I was a bit concerned because the axel still had quite a bit of slop in it. I saw on their video that it took the play down to 8 thousandths but this is def more than that. It did take a bit of play out but not much. The vibe at around 35-40 is virtually gone though, which is a good thing. I guess it is more the needles in the bearing that cause the noise\vibration. Is this normal?

So did you re-use your original CV shaft?

Sure did it showed virtually no evidence of ever being compromised what so ever.

My bushing only reduced my diff vibes by half. But my CV shaft is more stable now. It is what it is.

ARB locker with new gears are what I need now. :)

I agree, the bushing greatly reduced the vibration, but it's still there a little. I'd say 90% better. As long as it doesn't get worse. It probably varies with the amount of lift.

I have thought about lowering my front just a little to see if it makes a difference.

I also wonder how many people that have installed the bushing use a diff drop. I had installed a ready lift spacer kit last year and it came with the diff drop spacers. I immediately noticed the vibration and tried removing the diff drop spacers, but the sound was the same. I removed the kit and returned it that week. I'm not using a diff drop now with my 5100's at 1.75" and 1/4" top plate.

the vibration. you can hear it a bit. It is improved since the bushing. But....in the video they show it reduced the play a lot and I really didn't see that. it is better don't get me wrong but Im just meticulous

Anyone in the SLC, Utah area that has done this before and has the puller tool and might be willing to help me out with the larger sockets and an extra set of hands to replace the bearing on my truck in the near future?

You have 35" tires right? Did you change gearing?

I think a lot of it is because the internals are cast and not machined, causing some slop. which is why when you change the carrier and stuff to the ARB it cures it.

Update: The ECGS bushing is in. I'm Pleased to say the my "rumble strip" vibration is gone completely! With about 33k on the lift, the CV axle was undamaged and reused. My front diff gear oil had never been changed before and was very dark, the magnet was covered in goo. Good luck all!
