There ARE damages to recoup you idiot. He just said his wheel fell off and he skidded at highway speeds. Offering to fix his wheel, brakes, and studs is not going to fix the other damage likely done to the other parts of his vehicle. Not to mention he says he doesn't feel safe in his truck anymore, and I'd hazard to say his wife feels the same.

People like you are the reason people still quote that woman at McDonald's as a reason you shouldn't sue. Even though the coffee was so hot it melted through the cup and caused 3rd degree burns!

Sue if you were hurt. Sue if they don't repair what is potentially damaged.

Nothing wrong with a lawsuit if dealer not playing ball.

Take the wife to get a checkup to make sure nothing wrong with kid.

It is terrible when stuff like this happens.

If you do sue them you wont really be hurting the dealership just their insurance company, their premiums may go up a little though so I would see what you could get lol

That is not possible. You can boil water in a styrofoam cup.

I would skip the lawyer! For something like this a lawyer is just extra cost that you are not going to recoup!

Insurance great idea. Let them handle it. As for the carfax issue the dealer will most likely report it anyways.

Lesson learned, from now on always check your rig out before you leave the parking lot. I got to the point where one of the mechanics would always take a test ride with me around the lot before leaving to make sure I was happy and approved of the work. He was also the only mechanic there I would let touch my truck.

BTW how did you not notice a wheel that was coming off the vehicle? Only once have I had a wheel come loose and I knew something was up pretty quickly. Thing was terrifying to drive even a half a mile.

I had a wheel come off once. Didn't know something was wrong until I was scraping the ground at 50mph. Good luck OP
