WHAT WHY? Does he not make them anymore? Because if he still makes them I don't mind waiting a year if I have to lol.

I like the first one but it appears the white balance is off. It works for me though. I like the warm orange in the room. I like this better than the white lighting of the others.

Second one look a little too busy in the background. Perhaps use a wider aperture to blur it out some more. Background is kind of distracting. I like the hunting pictures in the background too though.

Third one my eye draws straight to the photo in the background instead of the shotgun. Fluorescent lighting?

Overall I like where you were going with the photos.

Cool Thanks. This what my first time shooting raw and I only have my kit lense. When I opened the photos in Photoshop it popped up with screen I had never seen before. I tried not to go crazy with all the sliders, but it is hard not to. They we all fluorescent lighting w/ the white balance set to fluorescent. Then I edited from there.

In the orange one I was trying to give it a warm feel, almost like it was an old gun, old lighting, with old memories on the wall. I am not 100% sure what I changed, but I believe I Messed with the white balance bar to get the warm look.

What do you mean the white balance looks off?
What do you suggest to get the warm feeling, without making it look off?
Do you think it's too much?

The middle one I had trouble getting the background more blurry. Kit lens is tough, I took probably 50 I didn't like until I took that one. It's an old, gun and was trying to keep a balance between being able to tell the background pictures were hunting photos, but not being able to see the details.

I definitely should have toned down the picture in the background of the third one. My eyes really are not trained yet, so I miss stuff like that.

Thanks for the comments! It is one of the best ways to get better.

There are no right and wrong anwers, it is down to what you like and your own style. Looks like you have an idea what you want and a good eye.

For me, the first one is too warm/orange, the second one is my favorite, and the composition of the 3rd does draw too much attention to the photo.

You might work on the 2nd one to give it a bit more of a sepia/old photo look, and maybe vignette it as well (make the light drop off in the corners).

The first one, you could just drag the slider back to reduce the orange a bit, but personally, I like the composistion of the 2nd one best.

Hey sorry Peter, totally missed those! I like number two the best, the important stuff is tack focus and for me composition is good. Agreed as well on the white balance off on number one, unless you were going for something there. And sorry if I said something that was already addressed I didn't read all the above posts...

WOW. These are great. I've wanted lightning bolt photos forever but they're near impossible to get in NY. All of those are awesome.

Holy crap, man! Those are phenomenal!!! Guess I need to go to Arizona more!
I've tried lightning shots once but I didn't have a tripod so that made it difficult. In Davis we don't really get lightning storms... :(
That milky way picture is just plain awesome. I really like the proportion of foreground vs. sky and that you framed the milky way so that it ends within the picture and doesn't run off the edge.
    Nice work!
