Good sidesteps for my 2011 DC...

Getting that ol' itch to dress up my truck. The first thing I would like to add is some side steps. I have no idea where to look or what brand to buy. I'm a fan of the brushed aluminum look. So throw out suggestions! Thanks.

 

Do u go wheelin? If do look at some sliders. Just maybe u can use those to step up

 

Avid off road sliders may work for you they are 300 or so or less. I have the eom step bars. They are not good sliders because they do not attach to frame

 

10-4 on sliders keeping others from hittin the rockers. My brother has sliders on his Tacoma and they are scraped with white paint from a grand am bumping him in a lot!

 

Another vote for sliders...Ive got some Avid Offroad sliders being made right now...cant wait...theyre pretty popular on the forum...happy hunting

 

Well I don't "hardcore" wheel but I've been known to make sure the 4 wheel drive works occasionally ;-). So Ill keep looking ..

 

If you don't want sliders, N-fabs are really nice. But if you're on a budget, Aries has a nice tube steps for under $200. That's what I currently have on my truck now.

I have these in my bathroom closet waiting to install. Happy medium between sliders and steps, if you're ok with the look. Long lasting, durable, and no maintenance worries like sliders, have conveniently placed steps like step rails.

They aren't "real" sliders because they bolt onto the body, rather than welding on to the frame. +1 for me, because I'm not a welder, nor do I want to share the fate of some of my ex-Navy welder buddies, hallowed be their names.

Still, I like how they look, and I'm anxious to get the snow to melt so I can put 'em on in my drive.

Here is a whole thread on them, polluted a bit by someone's bad experience on Amazon. (In the spirit of pollution, I ordered through amazon, and my stuff arrived quite happy.). Your mileage will, of course, vary. Price is right, and they look very good, and they are steps.

Just be aware that you can get lower "steps". These are priced right, and fit the bill for me for looks and a boost for the chicks (recently divorced).

They have a limited structural protection above stock, but they are not rock sliders "proper".

I don't know how low you're trying to go. Prom-date or trying to load granny (bless her heart)...

Was really looking at the Body Armors but I think I will get some that have a lower step. Decisions, decisions.

 

I don't wheel particularly hard. No rock crawling etc. More like trail wheeling. So I don't need anything redonkulous. I do however prefer them to be frame mounted rather than rocker panel. I kinda like the Avid step bars. I see they come bare so Ill have to paint them which isn't a problem. I kinda wanted that dull, brushed aluminum look. I don't think there's paint out there that color/finish that will look good so ill have to stick with black.

 

N-fabs are popular for steps. I'm awaiting sliders eventually but these N-fabs will do for now. Great for steps and much better looking than traditional nerf bars.

 

I do like them...been looking at their page also..Rubbin' the chin and drummin' the fingers....

 

Anyone have the Raptor series 4" bars available at auto anything? The description says frame mounted but a chat rep says rocker panel mounted. I think he is mistaken since they have a 500 lb rating.

 

Bump. Will order a set tomorrow. Starting to look hard at the Avid's step bars. They are $275 before shipping of course. Having a hard time deciding. Auto Anything has a set of Westin 4" oval bars for 212 shipped. As well as the Raptors I mentioned for the same price. Hmmmm....
