My tail lights are fugly

So on my 2007 Taco the tail lights did not bother me. On my '14 that I just got Saturday I thought they were ok. But as I look at them more they are getting flippin ugly. The chrome circle, the look, they just bother me. At night they are nice.

Is there another option for these lights besides replacing them? I like the blackened headlights but I haven't found anything on the tail lights.

Does somebody have pics of modded tail lights? Or after market with no chrome?

went with these guys. Some chrome but I think they look much nicer while maintaining a stockish look.

 

i used the tinted translucent spray paint im forgetting what exactly its called... but its illegal in my state but i dgaf lol

and they still light up plenty bright enough.

 

Yeah, they resemble the factory lights with the chrome painted black.

I used these on my '13 so pretty sure they'd fit your '14.

^^^ I just put these exact same ones on my '13. They are nice. They look just like stock but with black housing

 

They look nice and clean.

 

Could always tint them and cut out the reflectors to keep it legal.

I don't like the chrome on the tail lights either. I traded a guy on here for his base model lights.

 

Oh yeah that's more like it. I will be getting those! What year base model? I will do some checking.

 

LED tails came out in 09, so any tails from 05-08 will do the trick.

 

John sold me on his style (thanks for the pictures) no chrome and are very bright. Those base/05-09 lights have a pink lens cover just so you know and most, including myself, don't like it.

 

Mine came off of a '12 base model. All models came with this style from '05 til '08. From '12 til '14 they brought this style back for the base model only. If you like this look, you will have no problem finding someone to trade with you for free. Most people on here prefer the chrome look. Good luck with whatever you go with.

--You can remove the spray tint w/ a little gas and a rag. It comes right off, if you'd prefer them not blacked out.

 

In fact I've seen someone on the marketplace looking to do just that. I'd link you but f searching for it on my phone
