I thought about that but I can't justify spending more than double on the stock than I spent on the rifle itself. If I get shooting more frequently, I'll reconsider.

A brand new ACOG easily costs twice as much as most AR-15s haha. The only reason why modding Mosins feel so expensive is because Mosins themselves are so damn cheap.

A eotech or aim point would be half the cost of my rife, not gonna have that much tied up in one accessory for my rifle.
So i'm just gonna go with a 1-4 scope

I guess. I've seen them for about $200 so I would jump on it just because it would be way more comfortable.

Lol a fiber optic only acog costs half of what I spent on my gun :p

Well here's my thoughts on it. AAs might not last as long, but again in an "oh shit" scenario, you can literally get a AA from anywhere. Out of almost any remote, any electronic toy, or any gas station/store. They are much more readily available and even 200 hours of constant "on" with a AA is a decent amount of time.

This! I would prefer having a AA over CR2 or something. Even if it's 1/6 the hours they are way easier to find and cheaper.

That is exactly what I did with my Airsoft gun.

Blackhawk, its all in your priorities. I would rather have one or two rifles with good quality optics than 8 rifles with cheap optics, especially since you can only shoot one rifle at a time. Iron sights are also an excellent option that most people pass up on. I have a mix of both. Like Tigerfan said, they don't get beat up too bad or tend to lose zero and the batteries never die but neither do my ACOGs. Just pray you don't line up with someone who has practiced with an RDS set up because they will be much faster. I was resistant to go the magic looking glass route but I am glad I did because they are much faster.

    My 5.56 rifles

Rule for a gunfight. Bring a gun. Preferably, bring at least two guns. Bring all of your friends who have guns.
95% of my friends have guns. The other 5% don't believe in them, dont own or can't legally own one.

the stock is on order, i have no issues with commercial buffer tubes like some do. my commercial tube will never be replaced, unless it breaks. but i know that will likely never happen
