Please tell me my tranny isn't going out!

    01 double cab 4x4 auto

So for the passed few days it's felt a little weird going into drive, today it's gotten worse I have to pull hard to get it into drive or a lower gear. It seems to shift fine once I'm in gear but hard to get in and out. Fluid level is fine and no leaks. I did have an error code for a shift solenoid but cleared it and it never came back and the from researching other people had the same code and never did anything and all was fine:notsure:

    code P0750

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I'd buy a new shift solenoid. How old is the battery in the truck?

Yeah thats what I'm planning on doing but left it since no check engine light came on and from the research it seemed people leave it and everything is fine.

And how do I do that?
I'm unfamiliar with transmissions, I know what it is but not sure what to look for.

    Fine. First thing I checked.

this is what it looked like

    unnamed_zpsbe3c6771_5dca0ce9e4bd719f10ad35d3c06f2c4b45c4e04b.jpg

I can't really see the first pic but it looks like the bolt is supposed to be all the way back?

I moved mine about a half inch back, it's still difficult to shift gears and when I go from neutral to drive it shifts hard.

Fuck me hopefully it's just a solenoid, now to figure out which one.

It's clearly visable where the nut had been located as opposed to where it's currently located. You can see the clean spot of where the nut was, clearly off to the right side of where it's now been placed.

    Nagorb, your linkage is ok.

I saw that in the second pic but the correct one I could not.

Going to drop the pan tomorrow, well today, and hopefully it's just a bad selanoid.

I work in a transmission shop, so....here's my advice, take it for what its worth.

If not experienced, I would get with someone who is, or just take it to a trans shop that's reputable.

-The pan is a PITA b/c of the dipstick tube. It's 2 pieces, but getting the 2 pieces apart is a small chore with entire assembly OUT of the truck, nonetheless, in it. If you do remove in the truck, use plenty of spray lube and patience and "workin it".

-You can remove the pan and check around, DO NOT remove that valve body unless you want to have a really bad time with parts flying all over the place.

If you're not having shifting problems, I'd lean more towards a bad solenoid.

We recently did an A340 from a 01 Tundra, ate up a planetary gear set and toasted the overdrive clutches. That truck had shifting problems, lol. It had 208K on it.

Do you have to take out the valve body to check the selenoids?

It seems to shift fine once in gear, but it's just hard to move the shifter.

I'd spray the living shit out of the shift linkages with a rust penetrant and see it that doesn't free it up.

Maybe unplugging and cleaning the electrical connections would work.
