Talked to a dealer sales man yesterday and he said there was a rumor going around that toyota will have a promotional sale to really push the tacoma in the next month. He said that in addition to the 1500k cash back, toyota will add another 5k cash back to the tacoma. So totalling 6500k cash back. Sounds too good to be true. "So with invoice price, student discount etc...we are talking about 10k off msrp, you can get a 31k Tacoma for 21k" His words..

what you guys think? Bs? Or possible?

Tacoma's actually sell pretty well. Not as great as they did a couple years ago, but they still sell. Problem cars are the sequoia and the tundra. Ive seen 6k rebates on both models in california. I highly doubt they will offer 6500 off tacoma

Bullshit. Canada just recently raised the prices on Tacoma's by $600 because they sell so goddamn well.

What a stupid salesmen. If he's trying to sell you a Tacoma this month, why in the hell would he tell you next month there will be a $6500 rebate. Does he want to sell you a Tacoma today??? Apparently not. Either way, there will NOT be a $6500 rebate on the Tacoma. Do not believe anything this guy says.

that 6500 cash back is just money they can tack on to their 'asking price'. Basically is the MSRP is 30, and you get it for 24, they're golden. You, get screwed.

So if I do the Obama's "cash for clunker" I can get an additional $4,500 off, for any heap I trade in.:yay:
That would make the truck only cost $16,500 OTD! LOL!!!!!!

That sounds awesome until you have to get them to offer you that money for something older than the 90's or however that deal goes... lol

That's probably the root of of the supposed $6.5k rebate:

    ................................................. $1500 dealer incentive
    .............................................. + $4500 cash-for-clunker

    ................................................. $6000 total discount

yes u are correct ,they actually approved an extra 2 billion for it i think.. when people see 4500$ they go crazy and just go buy something they probably cant afford. so now people are in even more debt.. we will see what happens. im looking into buying my taco this month. so hopefully maybe they have some good specials.. i doubt it.. this month will b all about the cash for clunkers ..

its a good deal for some that have crappy car that's barely even running. i have a friend who bought a car with the program and i think he got 3500 but his car was maybe worth 500 bucks if that.. it was a POS. not a deal for me since my car does not qualify...

I just got a letter in the mail yesterday from my local dealership.

Something about - *They're in desperate need of nearly new tacomas* and had a bunch of offers & cash back. I can't remember how much it was... but pretty huge considering Toyota rarely offers rebates/cash back.

I ripped it up....my truck is paid off. If I were making payments on it, I'd be half tempted to get a new one.

Makes me wonder how much money they actually make on new vs used vehicles. They probably make more on the used ones!!

The salesman may be stupid, but looks like he is being savvy, consider.... people are looking for rebates and coming now..... more word out on forums too..... they always say theyre desperate for(fill in the model you have) ITS A SALES PITCH! Dont get cought in it any more than you already may be in considering a purchase their job when not making a sale is to try and generate word of mouth for future sales. Many promos cant be stacked either, still if no other offers apply, 4k sounds nice.
