Well since Dakar leafs wont fit my 97 and the 5 leaf I don't think is worth the money over my factory leafs my new idea is to run OME 881s up front with nitrochargers and 1/2 lift enhancer and then skyjacker softride 3.5" in the rear.

Anybody see anything wrong with this set up?

Interesting. I've always thought the toytec or allpro shackles don't work with OME bushings.

3" lift EIBACH coils w/ 5100's front, OME/ Dakar leaf springs w/ toytec adjustable shackles at 1.5" and 5125's out back. 33x10.5x15 KM2's Relentless DIY steel bumper.
    I think it's only allpro

I also have the toytec shackles with OME (yellow) bushings on my dakars.

OME 881's and Bill HD's up front, Bill HD's in the back with Wheelers AAL, stock shackles. Advertised 1.5" lift, but I was right at 2" front and back. Old Brahma Canopy and Jobox,,so add a extra 100-175lbs. About 3 years on this setup and it is holding up good. Rock logging road is still a bearable experience, Handles great in the soft muck as well.

Why won't the Dakar's fit your 97? Should be the same part # that I used.
    #CS019R through Toytec.

So i hope I'm asking this in the right forum. I am getting ready to lift a 03 tacoma and have looked at many lift kits. What kit or type of lift do I need to do to get a full 3" of lift in the front and have the truck set level. There is gonna eventually be a aftermarket bumber and winch on the front. Leaning toward that arb.

This thread is a great place to start, check out the first couple pages and you'll get lots of good examples of the OME (Old Man Emu) lifts. There are lots of options out there but this is the top of mid priced lifts. The quality of your lift depends on how much $ your willing to spend

Also search the "ongoing lift install price thread"
This thread will give you the idea of how much your gonna need to spend to achieve what your wanting

The cs019r is the shorter leaf pack for 97 and earlier. I have it on my truck. You can order from Amazon for free shipping, but you need the bushing kit. Total cost is less than $350 shipped!

Just an FYI...it sits about level now. After about a week of driving and hauling stuff around the rear settled quite a bit

Is this before or after you hang the 200 or so lbs of extra weight on the front?

3" of lift and sitting level is the holy grail you know. You can have it all perfect but once you add the extra weight, boom, no more 3"s up front. You can go with stiffer coils up front to help prevent that but without the extra 200 lbs the ride will be somewhat harsh and may be more that 3" initially which has its own risk factors.

Yep, 1/2" seems pretty common, I'm about 3/4" or so.
