You should also move your rear sight back and your front sight forward.

Def rear sight back. As for the front I have mine a few slots back because I mounted an Inforce WML there.

I've done that also and it makes sense if that's why it's mounted further back.

You do realize it's not my rifle right? Mines the solid black rifle. I just finished installing the furniture for a friend. Said so a page or two back. He has his sights set where they are comfortable for him to be able to reach without having to move his hands all around to flip them up

Yes I remember. But the rear bui should be on the T slot furthest back. The front can pretty much be wherever. I don't really understand what being comfortable has to do with "back up" iron sights. Just safety and flip them up? You're moving your support hand all over to flip them up anyway. Idk man, to each their own though. I've just never heard of that haha.

The longer the distance between your front and rear sight the more accurate they will be.

Just a quick evaluation for you AR guys, what would a CMMG 6.8 spc w/ magpul stock, grip, etc, 7 mags, 120 rounds AND Aero Precision .223 be worth? The CMMG has never been fired and the Aero fired very little, someone is asking me to trade for my dirt bike, 2006 yz450 listed for $2600, I would like to think my bike is worth much more than that but ~$25-2700 is about the going rate for that year

I think the aero would run $600-$800 and the CMMG would be around $1000-$1200+

I'm always very skeptical when someone is trying to trade me guns for something other than guns

I figure they are probably having a hard time selling them for some reason or another...or they're hot

Unless you have a particular affinity for one of both of those guns, I'd pass and tell him to sell them and come back with cash

Very solid advice, talking to the guy he has an ffl but I do hear you on the hard to sell part. Honest my bike has been :tumbleweed: for about 2 months. Biggest reason I was even entertaining the thought is my bike has been ridden twice in 3 years and just loses value sitting around and my plan was to sell the bike and buy an AR anyway, but I am not familiar with them so wasnt sure if the 6.8 has issues like impossible to find ammo etc. I did notice its more expensive than .223

Also the optic on the 6.8 is a knock off aimpoint

I would trade, but that's just me. Two weapons the Feds don't know you have is worth the difference to me! Sounds like you have something he wants and he has something you want even if it is around a 200.00 to 500.00 difference.

Scope looks way far back for proper eye relief :/ monolithic is good for something I guess.

CMMG 6.8 specs are not good specs. Wrong twist wrong lead in the chamber. Not a desirable 6.8.

Edit: after some googlefu it appears they updated their specs. So check if it's a 1:11 twist. If so it's the right specs.

Don't need a monolithic to move that scope forward. It can still move forward in the rings plus the mount can go forward 2 more slots before being off the receiver which you never want to do. With that said we don't know the rating for eye relief on that scope do we? It could be really short.
