Pretty pricey. About 90$. I'm pretty sure it can't be lubed. A thread over on TTORA said you could disconnect the cable at the transfer case and pull the inner cable out to lube. I tired this and broke the inner cable trying to pull it out. So I had to buy a new one. Not too hard. Removing the old cable was the hardest part.

Which TOYOTA badge is that? The new FJ?

I still need to dick around with my homeroshi, and I have a smaller badge that I like the size of, and I thought the FJ ones look too big, but if that is what you have, maybe not...

20-30 minutes it was really easy actually, i bought a new thermostat from napa but ended up re-using my old one and gasket, filled the radiator back up and done

Dumb question im sure tried searching for it too and couldnt find any answer i have the 3.4 v6 but why would you want to do this, doesnt the engine run at 180 stock and 170 with a napa thermostat why would you want it to run hotter or does it provide any performance gains? Sorry if this is a noob question

it should run closer to 190-195 stock, it needs to be this temp for your cats to work properly in turn means you pass smog and the engine will run as intended air/fuel ratio.

I had a bad thermostat that was running 180 or so and would not pass the cat test for smog because the cat was not warming up properly.
