Those of you with smart phones, who do you have for a provider.

Currently I'm on Verizon with 1400 minutes shared between 4 people. I am paying $20 for unlimited texting and $30 for a TRULY unlimited data plan (grandfathered in from my blackberry). In total I'm paying $80~ a month and because I'm on a grandfathered plan, I can't renew my contract. I have to switch phones out. So basically I have to buy a $600 iPhone and activate it instead of getting a new plan and such. I easily use more than 2GB of data a month.

So my options here are buy the 5S at $600+, switch to another carrier and get screwed with reduced data, go to one of those prepaid unlimited plans, or get a pay phone card...

I hate the fucking fine print.

 

I will sell you a 16g verizon 4S for $100 it's in great shape. iOS 7....

 

Transfer your upgrade from the unlimited to a phone without unlimited, upgrade that phone, activate it, then swap that new phone to the number with unlimited. VZW might not do it for you, but Best Buy should.

It's really not the snow . It's just that it only snows on the days I work. Between today and the other day I counted 28 cars in the ditch in my travels . Just tired of idiot drivers .

Strange I have unlimited everything grandfathered in Verizon and I can still upgrade my phone every 2 years . I've had verizon since I was 18 Ill be 33 next month
I actually just got a email the other day telling me I'm due for a new phone . I'd call customer service if I was you. I have much better luck with them then the people At the store .

 

Sprint. Unlimited everything including data.

 

Same here. And Sprint is truly unlimited

 

I hear ya. The thing is a toilet. I was only saying that bc I used to work for a rental car company and those are ways that can get you swapped out should you feel you can't take it anymore.

Nope. You'll be transferring the unlimited's upgrade to the other phone, and using that to upgrade. The other phone will still keep it's original upgrade eligibility. I've done it, twice.

Like I mentioned earlier though, an official VZW store most likely won't do it, because they know what you are trying to do. I did my thing at a Best Buy. Maybe something like a "VZW authorized" dealer could do it too.

 

There's an authorized Verizon dealer down the street... I'll see! I have an upgrade available on march 2nd!

There's a whole thread on XDA about doing this. I think only a couple people had bad luck.

 

Yeah I'll go to best buy. Now to save $200...
