In addition to the '06 Tacoma, we have two Lexus, a 2010 RX350 and a '08 ES350. Like them both better than similar Toyota models. However, when ready to buy another truck, I will likely stick with the Tacoma since Lexus has no pickups.

Lexus having a pick up is like lincoln making the mark 2 or what ever it was. just a re badged f150 that did not sell well and was like 10 to 15k more.

I've had a 2002 Corolla, a 2008 Scion tC, and now my 2012 TRD Sport DC Tacoma. I've been happy with all of them and never needed anything other regular maintenance. I would buy another Toyota in a heartbeat.

My wife currently has a 2007 Corolla with over 100,00 miles on it. Nothing but regular maintenance. Still has all original brakes, I bought pads for the fronts last summer and decided against changing because they still had a lot of meat left. Will probably change this spring though if she still wants to keep the car. She is thinking about getting a new Subaru Legacy.

I have my first Toyota, a '05 RC Tacoma, and I love it! A x1000 better than my first vehicle, a '96 Cherokee.
My father has had a '86 Pickup, a '95 Tacoma, and now a Tundra with 230k miles. The rest of my family now has a '04 Tacoma, a '03 Camry, a '05 tC, and a '03 Highlander. All of them have been great vehicles, and everybody loves them!

    I have had:
    1993 Camry
    1994 Corolla
    1998 Camry
    2001 Camry
    2003 Camry

Currently have a 2009 Camry and a 2010 Tacoma Access Cab TRD Sport. They have all been dead reliable. My SO loves the Camrys and probably will buy a 2014 this spring or summer. The Corolla was mine and pretty dull, but it fit my needs at the time. All the gas money I saved owning that thing helps me justify the mileage I get with the Taco. We may look at other makes and models and have bought some others, but we are always very confident when we buy Toyotas.

I've got a 96 taco and a 2001 Sequoia limited 4x4. It's loaded with leather and sunroof and such. Has third row seating, and more interior room than a city bus. It's like driving the titanic!:D but in 2wd it gets 17.5mpg in the city and it super comfortable and quiet ride. It's an awesome rig. The woman drives a pilot but likes mine better. Past that dad drives a Highlander, and mom a Sienna and are both extremely happy with them. Can't beat em. I'm actually thinking about selling the roadster for an mr2 this summer

Both of them are the cheapest base models with manual transmissions and the fewest options.

Including what we got from selling our old cars (I got $4,000 for my 1996 Tacoma, and my wife got $1,700 for her 1993 Hyundai Excel) we were able to get both of these for under $30k cash out the door.

    lol.
nice. idk why my one brother traded his silverado for a tundra. he tows less often than i do. and when he dose tow it’s the same as me or less. he should have got a taco. all though we have had the bed of his truck full of stuff that would be too much and not fit in the tacos 6’ bed. his tundra has a 6.5’ bed and is wider and probably close to 2x as deep. i like the deep bed a lot more.

I test drove the 4runner yesterday 2014 trail premium for the wife. Loved it. Now I just gotta let her test drive a tahoe so she can get it out of her system then we will go back for the runner

I started out with jeeps until I could afford to buy a Toyota. I've always been partial to them. Best reliability of any vehicle and cheap to repair for an "import". Don't be fooled, the Camry is the most american made car (most parts made and most assembly done in the US of any vehicle) I have owned two 4runners, best SUV imho, and now a tacoma, and I have driven multiple rental Corollas. The 3rd row seat option makes the 4runner a great option for a family car, I'd go with it.
