This picture turned out amazing. Probably one of my favorites yet. The 35mm 1.8 is amazing. I recommend everyone to have one.

A friend of mine uses the FD lenses on his Fuji x-pro1 and they are sharp as any other lens I've seen. He uses an adapter like that. I'm guessing you got a great deal on that lens?

The 50mm lens you have is superior to the newer models IMO. You just won't have your light meter in the viewfinder, which you can buy a good handheld one on Amazon. You will have to adjust aperture on the lens and shutter speed/ISO on camera, manual only.

That's not bad at all. Like Doug said, you probably got something with a lot better optics and build than what you could get today.

I wouldn't hesitate for a minute to get one of the older Nikon lenses, even a manual focus one for my camera. There was a lot of pride in the work done back then and it shows in the images.

Sucks how Canon decided to change mounts on their lenses.

You need an adapter for the fd. But I have some fd lenses. You have to set the exposure and focus manually but still nice glass

I'm pissed about it too since I switched to canon... But I could always just get an adaptor so it's nbd.

Hey, thanks for the recommendation on the BlackRapid Sport-Extreme strap/harness.
Got it yesterday and tried it out last night when I took the shot for the weekly challenge.

It was about a half mile walk to where I took the shot and it was a pleasure.
I gently cradled the lens (70-300) but there was no swinging or bouncing, and I couldn't even feel the camera hanging there.

My only concern is it might be a bit small if I'm wearing a heavy jacket. I need to check that out, but it'll probably be okay.

Now, the Slik 700 tripod hanging from the other side? I felt that.
I need to get a better bag for it than the one that it came with.

Do you even own a heavy jacket living in LA?

My tripod didn't even come with a bag. 6.5 lbs of holding one of the legs when I use it. lol

    Heavy by LA standards.

I've got a leather Fox Creek riding jacket, and my "fucking cold" jacket is my Carhartt. I think it's a Medford, but it might be the next level up.
Picked it up at the Penny's outlet store on clearance for $75.

    That's a nice alternate.
Most times when we consider bokeh, we're looking for the in-focus subject to be near-field, with the background out of focus.

And FWIW, nice bokeh from that lens.
It's a little "hot" which might be masking deficiencies. In my submitted shot, it looks okay for the most part, but some of the spots that are a bit lower level (IE, more properly exposed), I'm getting a bright ring around a dark area with a spot in the middle.
