Verizon will slow down 3G if you go crazy with it. As far as I know, they don't do that with their 4G/LTE.

On VZW, it seems like it took a while to get it in Woonsocket, where almost anywhere else I went had it. But in a good spot, my 4G is almost twice as fast as my home Internet.

    Airstreamers out there!?

Waiting for my '14 double cab to come to Ct from factoryin Tx...

Anyone pulling an Airstream with their Tacoma's out west, or northeast?

I really want to hear how she handles the Mt roads etc...

Its my folks '72 (coincidentally so am I) renovated/refurbished 21/23 foot Airstream.
My dad insists I need his V8 Suburban to haul her comfortably.
My 2000 TRD would pull anything till toyota bought her back because of her "rare" frame corrosion.

What does she weigh and how much will she carry? You also have to take into account what you are carrying in the truck with you. A 2wd will tow/haul more than a 4wd due to veh weight

In normal usage I didn't notice my 5 being that much faster than my 4 with the exception of 1 or 2 games I have on it. I only upgraded mine b/c the speaker/microphone started acting up and I couldn't use it outside of using Bluetooth.

Don't forget to factor in that in MA you pay sales tax on the pre-rebate price of the phone. So that $199 phone will actually be taxed on $599 or $699. I was so peeved as my phone broke two weeks before tax free weekend but because I was in the middle of buying my house I needed to have my phone be reliable.

Yeah I hate that. My phone was on sale for $50, but had to play tax on $600.

A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
Saw one of the greatest things ever yesterday on the way back from the mountain, guy in a douchebag red H2 crashed into the median. Guess he thought it was immune to snow. Wife and I both got a kick out of that.

The Aitstream is 29 or 3100lbs. alone...then loaded with her essentials, right then ourselves, boys and gear in the new to come 4X4 SR5 DC shortbed.

Yes I would need to add electric brake to the wire harness.

Def get a good brake controller and have brakes on the trailer. The Tacoma will do it but prob won't be very happy. I tow a car trailer and 88 pickup and the Tacoma will do it but struggles with really big hills.

Erik, how heavy is the car trailer loaded that you tow? I have a 63 Falcon convertible that I'd like to take to a few shows that are a good distance away and was looking at possibly getting an Aluma trailer. The car is about 2,700 lbs as it sits. My former truck was a modified Cummins and towed it on a heavy equipment trailer like it wasn't there.

I towed my mom's 64 Fairlane to Springfield and back from Wilmington.

Definitely keep your truck out of overdrive. It did ok but it is very heavy. Certainly isn't like hauling a car with a bigger V8 or a diesel.

I also towed my 53 Willys to Maine from Andover and I ran into overheating issues. Nothing horrible, I was able to back off the gas and lower the RPM. Some of that had to do with clogging the radiator up with mud and sand from various wheeling trips, even after quite a few thorough cleanings.

Just haul smart, keep it slow and steady. You'll be fine! :)

It's prob around 5000 pounds with the truck and trailer. I hauled all the way to Pennsylvania in August and had no problems other than hitting a ridiculous hill when we got there. The truck would run through first then shift to second and run out of power.

Thanks. I'll try to see if I can rent the trailer first to see how the truck handles the load. No issues with overdrive for me - got a 6 speed. Just have to worry about spinning the clutch instead...
